Titanfall

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That's fair. A lot of my friends are the same way and never touch the single player campaigns on these shooters (even though I've heard Halo has pretty good campaign stories).

It's just not something that appeals to me personally. For me, an immersive story comes first, and multiplayer comes second. For example, I probably put more time into Dark Souls on the 360 then any other game since Final Fantasy VII. And even though I LOVED pvp, I didn't even touch it until i exhausted my single player play.

I don't hate shooters, it just kinda takes a special one to peak my interest these days. I loved the immersive world of Far Cry 3 and the level grinding/loot whoring of Borderlands.

Honestly, the hype surrounding Titanfall makes me feel good about my decision to switch back to Sony this generation. Last generation, I found myself jealous over the story-driven exclusives Sony was offering while MS exclusives were mostly limited to multiplayer shooters like GOW and Halo.

At this point, I'm stuck in my ways. I love RPGS and story driven epics, with the occasional sports sim thrown in. Games like Dark Souls PVP and Borderlands co-op are opening me up to multi-player a bit, and I think I'll try it with Destiny, The Division, and finally try some MMO's coming out on PS4 this year.

I'm actually the same way..

I much rather play an RPG over anything else. The problem is they don't seem to make RPGs worth playing anymore. Final Fantasy just seems like a joke these days. FFXII came out so long ago, and 13 just wasn't any good.. Sad really.. Everything is FPS now.

FFXIII was crap, and I tried so hard to give it a fair shot.

I won't lie though, FFXV is the first final fantasy I've been excited for since I was a kid. It looks like they put the gameplay style of Kingdom Hearts into a more mature FF world that reminds me of FFVII-FFVIII style.

Also, I have a pretty big hard on for the upcoming Witcher 3. If they really pull off putting a Witcher 2 style story in a Skyrim like world, it has GOAT potential.

I snagged witcher 1 and 2 during the latest steam sale and I have already put in 30+ hours on witcher 1 and haven't even gotten to play 2. I think I spent 10$ total on the two. Great game so far.

If you want RPGs to play, particularly JPRGs, you need to get a Vita. That seems to be where all the decent rpgs have been released.

Gonna play the new Shadowrun Reloaded this week, shouldn't take more than a few days to beat. And I loved Shadowrun on the 16-bit consoles.

If you're talking about the kickstarter game its pretty good, buddy of mine has it and has a very old school feel to it but plays really well

I am so fucking excited for Witcher 3. Of all the titles coming out that's one of the only ones other than Destiny and Elder Scrolls Online that I'm looking forward to.

I was extremely disappointed in the ESO beta test.

Damn. Hopefully things will be ironed out before the actual launch, but I don't have any experience with MMOs in a console setting so I'm not really sure what to expect.

They really just need to make an Elder Scrolls game with 2-4 player coop. I don't think you can really capture what makes an elder scrolls game great in an mmo. For one, in mmo's the npc's are ALWAYS in the same place. In Elder Scrolls a lot of the npcs have daily routines and they don't always stay in one place. In Elder Scroll games you are also a supreme bad ass. In mmo's they typically have to make you a generic hero because you share the world with tons of people. An mmo never seemed like a great fit for Elder Scrolls, not really sure why they tried to go there.

Titanfall I am interested to see how that turns out. I believe they capped the players at 6 vs 6. A lot of people seem disappointed by that, but there are tons of other games with huge amounts of players aloud and that typically leads to just mass chaos.

Edit:
Were you all concerned that Titanfall may not feature any post release DLC? Well put those worries aside because EA is proud to confirm that the team which pioneered shitty overpriced DLC map packs which simultaneously fragment the community and destroy a game's longevity will indeed be bringing the same shitty overpriced DLC map packs to this ground breaking new game! Mod tools to be evaluated after release (ROFL!).

My interest has dwindled. I can't stand online games that release large amounts of online map packs that fragments the community based on what you have purchased. Looks like it will be tf2 from here on until eternity. It is amazing how nobody has grasped this concept and Valve has absolutely mastered. You don't release purchasable content that excludes people in the community. You are suppose to release vanity items, like clothes, skins, hats. People have proven to buy into this concept and it keeps the game alive.

I got into the Closed Alpha a few weeks ago as well and it was the most fun I had in a multiplayer game since Halo 2 and I have played pretty much everything. March 11th can't get here soon enough.

Speaking of Halo 2, A remake is coming this Fall on Xbox One only which will include multiplayer.

Ready for this game.

ESO has me intrigued but I doubt I'll play it. Maybe if they do a free trial I'll give it a whirl.

I was pumped for Titanfall when I heard the old Infinity Ward crew was in charge, but I think I'm going to wait for reviews before jumping in. I am looking forward to the Thief reboot which comes out in a couple weeks. Based on what I've read it plays really well.

Although this is a sub fee game, you get a 30 day free trial when you purchase the game. Sure, you are still dropping $60 for the game, but I think this is about as close as you will get to a free trial since Zenimax has yet to confirm if they will have an open beta. There have been rumors of an open beta, but they are just rumors at this point.

For those on the fence about ESO, the NDA has been lifted for press and media outlets on a limited basis. They are allowed to discuss their PVE experiences and show a total of 15 minutes of gameplay. So, there are actual gameplay videos and articles out there to view if you did not get invited to the beta. I have been in the past 4 betas and the game has certainly improved with each beta. I specifically like the route they are going with the crafting system.
