From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

The Eagles, according to a league source, feared that Bentley might be leaning toward signing with the Browns earlier in the week when word leaked that Cleveland was trying to trade center Jeff Faine, a three-year starter and former first-round draft pick who is just 24 years old.

I'm hearing since his contract is so cap friendly that his value increases a bit. Talent wise he is worth a 4th rounder but with the contract he has it may become a 3rd rounder. Don't put too much stock into a Philadelphia based paper, we know how they all "had bentley weeks ago"

Getting a 3rd rounder would be a nice move. I have to think a 4th is more likely though.

I thought yesterday that maybe the Browns should hold onto Faine but after thinking for a day getting something for him a trade would be the right move.

If we could grab a 3rd I would be pumped....sad though because we used a #1 on him....god we used to be soooo bad

Blame Butch Davis and his regime of cronies..

Just think of it as Butch Davis regime = George Bush regime

romeo regime = clinton regime

things are on the uptick!

Butch made the playoffs and without injuries to Courtney Brown and Jamir Miller we probably would have been a really good team the year after as well.

Butch didn't do a terrible job, the regime before Butch was the one that set this team back.

He drafted a long snapper...nuff said

Butch was terrible. Which made him about a million times better than Clark/Palmer, who's ineptitude can not be adequately expressed by human language. If Crennel/Savage can just be average, it will be an improvement.

Hey, Pontbriand is still on the team. How many of Clark's picks can say that? And let's not forget that Clark picked #1 OVERALL both years, and had FOURTEEN picks a year. Yet he couldn't find any talent. He literally would of done better throwing darts at names on the wall.

here is my idea....trade Faine for a 3rd rounder friom philly...then offer Phillys 3rd rounder for Culpepper......niiice

I wonder what the going rate will be for Culpepper? The browns are certainly a team with questions at QB. They're also a team that's not going to win the Super Bowl next year, and could afford to wait on Daunte to get healthy. Do we want him?

I guess if the price wasn't ridiculous I'd take the chance. A third round pick for a probowl QB who's still fairly young? I think you'd have to do that. My concern about culpepper is not so much the injury, but that he looked like a fish out of water with out Moss. But for a third rounder you make that move.

I'm guessing Minnie is asking for more than that though...

cstyle y cant we win the super bowl?? whats the point in watching if you u think they wont do anything... na im a true fan, i think browns will make playoffs bearing injurys and have a great shot... if frye gets on fire and winslow does what i no he can do we are going to be very good... i also think we have 2 great WR in joe whos 6'5 230 good speed and great hands, and Ewards whos about 6'3 and also fast with decent hands... i dont no about every one else but i dont think offence will be a problem this season...

Browns don't have a chance as it stands...no QB, soso running game and a bad defense.

We need more play makers on defense before we make the playoffs.

As it stands, the Steelers and Bungles are lightyears ahead of us. We still have one, maybe two more very good off-seasons before we get back into the playoffs in this division.

As far as Culpepper, ESPN said he can be had for a second rounder..

Culpepper is a Dolphin and Drew Brees is a Saint check espn.com

Drew Brees is a ****ing idiot.... I'm so glad that stupid **** is out od SD...

Hey wouldn't you sign on with a team with no stadium too?
