This dude should atleast be in the home run derby if not the allstar game...He has the most grand slams before the all star break and one shy from mlb record...But knowing the indians he's prolly gonna be gone before we make a deep playoff run

enjoy it while it lasts, the yanks will probably take him away frm you guys in a year or so

Better the Yanks than the Sox...

Now what, James ????? :gap:

He's signed by the Tribe thru 08. He'll be 31 then and on the downside of his career, so the Bankees won't get his best years anyway.

Prime is usually 27-30. Unless your name is Bonds or you're on the juice.

we already got 2 former tribe outfielders in Manny and Coco, we will take Hafner if we need to. but we dont need an outfielder right now, the yankees on the other hand...they do.

31 for a DH is like being a 23 year old pitcher.

your right cdt...

thome is older them 31 and look at him... there is so many good players over 31 still playing right now...

You can keep Joco Jip James but we got this guy.... Andy Marte!!!!!

Third baseman Andy Marte won the Class AAA home run hitting contest Monday night in Toledo with a prodigious display. Marte, who could be headed to Cleveland soon, hit a total of 29 homers, including a few completely out of the ballpark to display the power that intrigued the Indians when they traded for him last January.

h ewill still be in a farm system when he gets to the majors though...the yankees/red sox farm system. :chuckles: :chuckles:

Yeah, Pronk's a free agent in 2008 and will want Ortiz money. Dolan's ass won't give it to him. He'll definitely end up in New York and become a superstar, and I'll hate every minute of it that something like that couldn't happen in Cleveland. First Belle, then ManRam, then Thome, and now Pronk?

Silly Indians...good players are for big markets.:chuckles:

You are delusional if you really think that. Hafner's best days are definitely ahead of him. He'll only be 30 when his contract expires in '08. Baseball careers last way longer, esp if you're a freaking DH. After '08, Pronk will have at least five good years left in him. Thome's 36 right now and he's crushing even more HR's than Pronk.

Manny Ramirez is 34 and is on pace to match his HR totals from the last two years in the 40s. Vlad Guerrero is 30 and I wouldn't say that he's leaving is "prime" any time soon. David Ortiz is also 30 and he isn't going anywhere for a while, which is why the Red Sox locked him up long-term. I already mentioned Thome being 36 and still raking. Gary Sheffield hit a career-high 43 homeruns when he was 32 with the Dodgers. Jason Giambi is 35 and having one of the best years of his career right now. Carlos Delgado is 34 and he was still one of the most sought-after players last year. He's still on pace to match his career-average of 35 homeruns this year (in fact he'll probably beat it). These guys may have been on juice before, but not anymore (I guess they could still use HGH but then again so could Pronk). Guys like Thome, ManRam, and Giambi are still knocking em out.

When Pronk is 32, he'll be scary. Very scary. I just pray that it will be with Chief Wahoo on his jersey. 27-30 is prime for basketball. Definitely not for baseball. For a lot of stars, their best years are AFTER age 30.

Isn't it funny how everyone in the country thought that LeBron would be the Cleveland athlete to leave for NY in 2008 when it might end up being Pronk? Not as devastating, but still, it will crush the Indians and really kill the fan base if yet another star free agent leaves.
