league sources claimed, the Nets are close to reaching an agreement with Cleveland free agent Robert "Tractor" Traylor, the 6-8, 284-pound hulk who could fortify the forward line.

That's a shame if it happens. I'd much rather have the tractor than White.

NY Post.

I wonder if we proposed something gracious to him, if he'd come here. Say it was strictly a business decision and we didn't want to let him go. Tell him we wanted to have him here for a longer term and give him a 4 year deal. I wouldn't mind having him here that long, he's a good locker room presence and is a rough and tough player on the court.

This is how bad our bench sucked last year. People think tractor adds value to the team. Ferry didn't, and won't bring him back because he's terrible. People seem to have forgot the season prior to the last week of the season. I remember it was almost unanimus before the last couple weeks of the season no one wanted to resign traylor, and then suddenly, the we gotta resign this guy came along. bleh

at the end of the year tractor was the only guy that showed up along with bron

he was playing tough defense and getting double doubles, and played a very nice role

he played alot better then ZySlowness ILSlowness down the stretch.. who btw, with the exception of like 3 games, played horrible in april when the games were at their most critical point..

Ilgauskas playing with broken bones did play below his best. Maybe he should of been like any other average player in the NBA and not played at all. Damn him and his toughness.

As for Traylor, he was a solid backup. He is a good benchman where he is not relied upon heavily. With Collins, Krstic and Jackson already in New Jersey this will be a solid environment for him to perform.

I have to go with E Light on this and I've said the same thing before. Traylor is a decent backup and nothing special. He was inconsistent all last year and you never knew what you were going to get from him. People do seem to only remember the last week of the season and forget about the other 77 games.

Traylor's loss doesn't upset me. He's really a PF and not a C. With the addition of Marshall and improvement from Varejao the Cavs are set at PF. They need more of a true C behind Z which White is. Jahidi White has been as good and maybe even better in his career than Traylor. Take a look at and compare their career numbers.

Don't see Traylor making much of a difference in NJ, he won't get many minutes there, proabably just garbage time at the most. Best of luck to him though.
