Both are pint size QB's... Both have decent arm strength, good accuracy, and the ability to run...

Is anyone else going to pay any attention to how Seneca plays these next 3 or 4 weeks, and kinda use that as a barometer as to how Troy's game could translate in the NFL ?

Although Hutch is gone, Seattle still has a much better O-Line than we do, and has solid receivers... Conventional wisdom would have you believe Seneca could succeed with these circumstances.. If he doesn't ? Does that strike another blow for the 6-0 and under QB crowd ?

I haven't seen Seneca play in forever...I remember he was a great player in college went mid draft and has been stuck behind Matt Hassselbeck.

We'll see..

Who knows?

By the way, this is kind of related: Michael Vick is the most overrated player in the history of the National Football League.

Vick is over rated, but he is still a good enough player to get a avg team to the playoffs.

Seneca played in sac town. FYI

I feel that Troy has more than a "decent" arm.

Mac, vick plays on a team that leagues the lead in rushing. Thats the only reason they go to the playoffs.

Seneca Wallace is not the only undersized QB in the NFL. Smith is taller than Drew Brees, and Brees may be the MVP this year.

It would be different if he were 5'8", but Smith will be fine at 6'1". Sure, it would be nice if he were taller, but his height won't be something that keeps him from succeeding at the next level.

decent arm strength for troy?Wow have you seen any of the games?

It's not like I said he had poor arm strength..

Okay, I'll try again..

TROY SMITH'S ARM STRENGTH IS A SUPERIOR ENTITY TO ANYTHING IN THE WORLD, HAS IT'S OWN REPRESENTATION, AND IS UNSUITABLE FOR COMPARISON TO THE NORMAL LIVING MAMMAL....

I'm watching Drew Brees and using it as a barometer for how Smith could play in the NFL.

Pip typed living mamal. :chuckles:

They are nothing a like. Outside of height, two completely different players. Brees did play in a QB friendly system that is designed on dink and dip passes.

I know. It's just my point that Smith will be just fine with his height. At 6'1" his height isn't a pro, but it's not a con either, it's not crippling. Outside of you, Mac, I haven't heard anyone complain about anything in regards to Smith except he may be too short to ball on sundays.

As I've said in other posts, his game reminds me of McNabb.

I just said he has short comings. The system at OSU will not help him in the NFL. His height. There are other things..

Vince Young is struggling mightily...Young is a million times better than Smith, but then again, everybody is different. Time will tell.

Bro you are so off base with tat comment. Young ran a simple offense in which he only looked at two recievers, thats it. Thats why he is struggling. The reason he got drafted so high was because of his running ability, not throwing. Smith will be drafted for his throwing. By the way he is throwing to maybe two first round draft picks.
