My 65" Vizio backlighting is fubar. From a Google search it could be as easy as popping the back panel off and replacing a $15 dollar part. But also this is a great excuse to upgrade, fix the TV later and throw it in bonus room.
I've gone back and forth on buying budget vs. good TVs. This Vizio put a bad taste in my mouth so I think I wanna go "good."
So I was thinking of a 75-77" in the range of $1200 or so which I think (?) gets you a pretty good TV. Seems like I need to go to $2k to get a good 85" like Sony 90 series and maybe it's just not worth it.
TV is in a room with a decent amount of natural light. It's on top of my mantle and it's 99% going to stay there. So viewing angle somewhat important and brightness important. Would like high contrast, bright, local dimming.
Main problems with current TV is that it doesn't handle action/sports well, the low light detail sucks, and there's blooming. I watch with captions a lot of the time.
Haven't gamed in a while but I typ. do in the winter a bit.
Mostly I stream the Paw Patrol movie.
Any recommendations? Advice on 75-77 vs 85?
