Ugh So...

I have to work on NFL Draft weekend. There is NO WAY in hell that I'm missing day 1, I will probably miss Day 2 but I can tape that, round 1 is not an option.

Since it doesn't start till noon I'll work 8-11:30...

BUT I need a good excuse as to why I'll be leaving work early, a good excuse is crucial. Plus I have to let him know 2 weeks in advance if I have to leave early or miss.

My top excuse so far is...I have to go to a wedding and will be leaving town around 12 and not returning until later that night.

Anyone have any good ones that you use at your own work? Anyone else in the same pickle that I'm in? Scheduling a male to work during the draft is un american anyway...wtf? :thumbdown

It's April 29th and April 30th they pushed it back a week from last year. I'm almost positive it starts at noon. Each team gets 15 minutes to make a selection and they usually use all of it incase they receive late trade proposals. So about 4 picks per hour the Browns will pick around 3:00-3:30 for those of you just interested in tuning in to see who we get.

Mac and I are sports junkies though we like to see not just what's going on here but where the big names end up, what kinda trades go down who falls, and who " the rivals " end up with. I love drafts for the NFL and NBA, baseball drafts aren't even televised. The NFL draft is by far my favorite because of the players you can find, in the NBA there's only 5 positions to fill, in the NFL there are 22 positions needing to be picked for. I want it to be April 28th right about now..

There is absolutely no way that it starts at noon, its more likely to be on at 9. Ah as I typed it I forgot to calculate the time zones. What sucks is that they talk to a couple of players the whole time for time gaps, to stall, and if the players arent from the Browns than they never talk about your team. You have to wait for the coach cam to get any info.

Seeing it scroll by on ESPN just isn't the same as hearing the commish announce it and our new star come on stage with the team cap on.

Our 12th pick could be a lot of people, with all the picks we have we could easily trade up or if someone falls. The Packers had the 24th pick last year and got Aaron Rodgers who was still in the green room.
