Game Notes

-After a six game win streak, Philly finally lost to miami last night. (96-106)

-The Cavaliers are currently on a six game win streak.

Keys To The Game

-Eric has to D-up his old friend AI. And he has to do it good. It would be nice to keep him under 25 points, since his low of the season is 25. If he has to go over thirty lets make him go on .400 shooting, or less.

-Protect the perimeter. Kyle Korver is always a threat to hit 5, 6 or even 7 threes a game. his percentage is down this season, .405 to a .381, so lets not let it go back up against us.

Prediction:

I don't like predictions, but i think we know who im rooting for.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

That's another test to our defense. Philly can score a lot of points, and they showed that. If we keep them under 100 points, i think we'll have good chances to win this one. As joma have already mentioned, we have to protect the perimeter because of deadly shooter Kyle Korver. Also we have to slow down AI. I don't think Chris Webber will be a factor tonight. I predict 103:97 win.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

This is our biggest game since San Antonio.

* Both teams are playing back to backs.

* Alan Iverson has been unstoppable thus far. He is scoring at will as usual, but he have been very impressive in getting good looks for his teammates. Eric Snow has been working hard on Arenas and Francis of late so heshould be battle ready, but Iverson is in another league with penetration.

* Chris Webber has hit some form after a slow start. if we can keep him shooting J's near the perimeter which he at times can get caught up on, we make inroads. Who will guard Webber, Z or Gooden?

* Philidelphia are a little thin up front. if we can get Z going early again, he can take out shot blocking center Hunyer.

* If LeBron is being guarded by Korver, he should look to attack whenever possible. If Iguodala gets the job. he should hand off to Larry. However at the other end James needs to be very focussed as Kyle can get hot from downtown working off a Iverson drive and kickout.

* Iguodala vs Hughes matchup could be huge. Both players have been a littl erratic offensively thus far, but if one breaks out, it could be the difference maker.

* Salmons off the bench has been on fire for phili finally realising his potential. He combines with Nailon in a very thin bench.

* Cleveland have a major depth advantage. Getting their bigs in foul trouble forces them to either go small with the swingmen pushing up a position, or play a mediocre big.

I see this as a high scorer with both teams a little lax on defense backing up after a flight from last nights game.

No prediction. I have no idea how we'l go. Fence sitter! I know.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

we have the added bonus of our starters getting some rest after a blowout win last night vs the magic, while i believe the sixers were battling it out for nearly the entire game with the heat

i'm really looking forward to the result of this game, there are many question marks about our team that can be answered tonight:
1) can we do all the things on the road that we've been doing at home, i.e. staying focused, playing solid defense
2) can we stop or at least nominally slow opposing guard dribble penetration, this has been our defensive achilles heel for many seasons in a row now... we did a great job against arenas and a pretty good job against francis, AI as karma said is on another level though
3) can we come out strong on the 2nd game of a back-to-back
4) can our ballhandlers handle pressure; on defense, philly likes to attack the ball and be rather aggressive, and AI of course is always one of the leaders in steals

a good test for our team, on the road, and philly is playing great and are considered almost on par with the cavs in the east by many following the nba. If we win this one convincingly, this should turn some heads

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Philly goes zone press and man press some, their D is pretty tight. We'll get some different looks defensively than what we're used to seeing. This is a pretty good team we're up against tonight, but do have the advantage of a blowout win the night before. AI is going to get his 25 points, but we should make him work for it, Snow and Hughes will probably alternate on AI, who's probably going to go for 45 minutes this game. Webber is still good, not sure how Gooden is going to do against him. Korver will burn us on a couple rotation lapses no doubt, but 2 or 3 open looks is a lot different than 7 or 8.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Game on.

Phili have won 20 of 23 against Cleveland!

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Cavs start poorly. 2 turnovers and Iverson with 2 quick baskets.

Z with an early foul.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Iverson has got into the paint to the right side on 2 plays in a row. He's hard to handle regardless of which side he chooses but it's even worse when he goes right.

Larry Hughes hits the first shot for the Cavaliers. Hopefully, he gets going.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Pick'nroll again and we dont rotate. Hunter slam!

Iverson off the Snow turnover and we have a timeout!

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Z can stop trying to show up on the pick play leaving Hunter open down low isn't any better...And Snow can't guard Iverson put Hughes on him and let Snow guard Korver.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Phili just running the same play. We must work hard to help Z and Snow of this play.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

I dont think anyone can cover AI effectively. Its working hard on help and rotations that is key.

Also stopping the turnovers that lets them run.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Nice smash by James.

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Nice run at both end. Z the block and the oop at the other end. We lead!

Re: Cleveland At Philadelphia

Nice oop..

7-0 run
