Way Too Early 2024 Browns 53-Man Roster Projection

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
OG and TE seem thin. 1 less LB and WR.

QB (3): Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Dorian Thompson-Robinson
Yep, slam dunk, for sure.
RB (4): Nick Chubb, Jerome Ford, Nyheim Hines, Pierre Strong Jr.
I think Foreman makes it over Strong. Hines is a ST'er/3rd down back. Foreman will be the primary rusher until Chubb is ready.
WR (6): Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore, Cedric Tillman, David Bell, Jamari Thrash
Don't think this can go any other way.
TE (2): David Njoku, Jordan Akins
This is possible, and with what I expect for the the Dorsey offense would make sense, but I think they carry 3TE. Welch would be my favorite but could sign a vet or Recci
OT (4): Jedrick Wills, Dawand Jones, Jack Conklin, Hakeem Adeniji
I dunno, Adeniji sucks. I'd go with Hudson, but that's just me.
OG (3): Joel Bitonio, Wyatt Teller, Zak Zinter
OC (2): Ethan Pocic, Luke Wypler
Yep. No other options.
Special Teams: 3
K (1): Dustin Hopkins
P (1): Corey Bojorquez
LS (1): Charley Hughlett
Done.
Defense: 26
DE (5): Myles Garrett, Z'Darius Smith, Ogbo Okoronkwo, Alex Wright, Isaiah McGuire
I'm guessing McGuire is on the block. I've heard it theorized that Hall could play outside on some rushing downs. I think McGuire could be in trouble.
DT (5): Dalvin Tomlinson, Shelby Harris, Quinton Jefferson, Michael Hall, Siaki Ika
Maybe Hurst? Maybe they keep this room in lieu of a 3rd TE.
LB (6): Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Jordan Hicks, Tony Fields II, Devin Bush, Nathaniel Watson, Mohamoud Diabate
I don't think they carry this many. Diabate or Watson aren't making it. Potentially Bush could be on the block too.
CB (6): Denzel Ward, Martin Emerson, Greg Newsome Jr., Justin Hardee, Cameron Mitchell, Myles Harden
Probably. Hardee is my biggest question.
S (4): Grant Delpit, Juan Thornhill, Rodney McLeod, Ronnie Hickman
Could see Bell instead of an extra linebacker.

The roster is going to be TOUGH to trim. Could be cutting some pretty good NFL players.

Or we hit the waivers/end of camp to acquire one...
Those guys are normally either projects, blocking tight ends or washed vets. . DN. GOES FOWN YOU ARE IN SOME Trouble . Aikens looked pretty old last year ….

I felt like TE we would address in the draft personally, but we didn't have a pick in the round most of them went and I like the two guys we did get.

Still they will figure something... Who knows maybe one of the undrafted guys will take it...

The vets will be traded before getting cut. Could also see us adding a vet TE this summer like Tyler Kroft or Robert Tonyan.

Jack Duffin's prediction...

QB: Watson, Winston, Thompson-Robinson
RB: Foreman, Ford, Hines (Chubb on PUP)
WR: Cooper, Jeudy, Moore, Tillman, Bell, Thrash
TE: Njoku, Akins, UDFA or Outside FA
OT: Wills, Jones, Conklin, Adeniji
OG: Bitonio, Teller, Zinter
OC: Pocic, Wypler

DE: Garrett, Smith, Okoronkwo, Wright, McGuire
DT: Tomlinson, Harris, Jefferson, Hall, Briggs
LB: Owusu-Koramoah, Hicks, Bush, Watson, Fields
CB: Ward, Emerson, Newsome, Mitchell, Harden, Hardee
S: Thornhill, Delpit, McLeod, Hickman, Bell

I have a hard time seeing Briggs make it over Ika... Seems like they drafted Briggs with the hopes of waiving him and sneaking him onto the PS for the season..

Wonder if they'd view 5 safeties as a way to carry 5 LBs, to open up roster spots elsewhere considering how often they were in subpackages last year..

Considering how little they invested in TEs and how much they talked about opening up the offense more, think there's a real shot they carry just Njoku and Akins on the active roster and keep 2 TEs on the PS..

Ika better show something . Swartz is not fooling around after the way the season ended

I think Ika gets camp to prove what plan they had for him to improve on between drafting and second year have been reached. Strength, awareness, weight management, technique, etc. If he hasn't, trade Ika for a 5th next year or Ika + a '25 6th (Browns have 3) for a '25 5th swap during camp/preseason.

If the Browns are looking for explosive playmakers on the line Ika isn't it. Briggs' 39 reps bench press at the combine shows he has the potential to shed an initial block and be more disruptive.
