We stop the Bus, we stop the Steeler season.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kinda hard to move the ball when nothings around you. How good are his WR's? No hands Northcutt and Oops I dropped it Bryant. Don't blame Frye, when he has weapons he is dangerous. I'd say today he was walking into a war with plastic butterknifes.

Dont even blame it on the WRs, he has to provide catchable balls in order for them to be caught.

His passes were ALL OVER the place. Behind, low, high, out of bounds. Frye was making terrible decisions all game. He had a chance to run for a first down, instead he threw it into double coverage. He had slants wide open TWICE and he threw it behind Northcutt once and the one i forget what happened.

He had time to throw, so dont give me that one either.

He played like shit...I know he is the local golden boy, but I call it like it is and today is a good reason why he was a third rounder. Poor arm strength and his decision making is a bit lacking.

We have a sweet offensive line, he had a good 2 seconds to make a decision or he was a road pizza under a 300 pounder...

Our offensive line gave nobody any chance to make plays. We were just simply outclassed. Outcoached, outplayed. All their defensive ends and linebackers simply marauded us.

You can't expect to have a decent passing game when your rushing game is completely shut down. That first quarter we couldn't push the ball up the field no matter how you put it.

Bottom line is, he didn't really have that much time in the pocket. He did make some bad decisions, and could have passed the ball a second sooner on some plays that would have made a difference. But the stats say it best: He got sacked 9 times. It's his fault?

So he's everyone's "golden boy." So that means he'll never be good in A Mac's eyes. That's too bad. Well, whoop-dee-doo. If he's not good enough for A Mac, he's no good at all. Scrap him and start Dilfer again, that'll make everything better.

if im not mistaken their were multiple dropped passes in the first quater which totally killed the momtem and than put the team behind.

when it got to 14-0 i knew the game was over.

i dont care who the qb is, if it hits the recievers in the hands they should have caught the ball. so he didnt play great, but if you do everything that mac said he plays a perfect game. not to many qb's out their play perfect games.

im glad frye got to be in a game like this, it will only make him stronger.

lyxo with another moronic post, doesnt surprise me.

Where did I say anything of the sort? I didnt..call it like it is. If he played a bad game, say it.

The OL wasnt the problem, the sacks came from LBs and DBs, where was Droughns and the FB blocking? Where was Fryes hot read? He had time to throw, they didnt start blitzing the crap out of him til it was 17-0.

Whenever we get a player like Charlie, everybody wants to pass the blame off to everybody else. Like it is being discussed in the dawgtalk forum, nobody had a problem calling out Dilfer but when the local golden boy messes up and performs badly, it's everybody elses fault.

The whole team played like crap, Carthon pretty much set this offense up to fail but Charlie did not put the balls where they needed to be. There was probably one dropped pass the entire game...those passes have to be catchable to be considered a drop. The receivers were bending over backwords trying to catch these balls.

I noted that when Charlie was passing those TDs to Braylon...they were not good passes, they were lucky, and now he is still having that same problem.

He is going to be dog meat if he cant learn how to pass the ball. He was waiting too long, he was under/over/behind throwing the entire game. He was esp bad at timing the breaks, he almost got picked three times because he waited 15 years to throw the ball.

This is going to be a running team in the future, atleast with a idiot OC like Carthon, thats what its goign to be and we dont need an All Pro QB, but we still need a guy that can throw the ball accurately. Bernie was really good at that...and thats who he draws comparisons too because both of their arms were very very very weak, Charlie needs to spend a lot of time with a tire and learn to be a lot more accurate.

And no cali, you are very wrong. Not everyball that hits a WRs hands should be caught. Do yourself a favor, get the game tape and watch it over again and see where those passes were. They were almost impossible to catch, if Jerry Rice was out there, odds are Charlie would have had the same numbers but you are right with im glad he had this game. Because he has been exposed, he knows what he desperately needs to work on. Reading defenses and learning when to deliver the ball.

I think it was like 17-0 by the end of the first quarter, I know it was 14-0 at least. I had no problem blaming Dilfer, because he "ALWAYS" threw it to AB81 and they sucked, Charlie tries to spread it out, and if you don't have time to throw you will not be successfull case and point David Carr, when he has time in the pocket he can go for 300+ but usually he eats turf 5 times or more a game.

I'm not saying Charlie played great by any means all I'm saying is it's not like he had a lot of decision time back there it was basically...Snap step step wham! And I don't know where the full back was, Smith was playing on Special Teams as Jim Donavon said but McIntyre was the FB if we even had one most times we didn't.

All I'm saying is, if Charlie had weapons we wouldn't have been shut out. By this time each year we have no more depth, and any good players we have are on IR...oh well who feels like arguing this anymore?

We are going to get a top 10 pick and have the most money (approximately 33 million) to spend in Free Agency :) Another Savage draft and the return of BE and KW2 should spark some more W's next year.

you need to watch the game over. in the first drive alone bryant dropped a pass at his knees, and later heiden dropped a wide open ball, which he challenged, and then got overtunred. both of those passes were good for first downs, instead we 3 and out.

right their alone i proved you dont know what your talking about, dennis northcutt also dropped a couple of passes and yes he did make some great catches.

i was watching it on tv with replay, you were sitting in the upper deck. i think i would know better than you, and i would not have said anything if you werent wrong. i got very very upset over our guys dropping passes i remember. get over it.

and yes, if your hands touch the ball it should be caught. these guys are in the nfl for goodness sakes, and they were those gloves. have you not seen or felt how sticky they are, obvisouly not, because if you did you wouldnt be backing the receivers.

why was brian brennan and kevin johnson so effective, the caught every fucking ball. why isnt bryant going to the probowl??? he drops to many passes. why was quincy morgan traded, he to dropped to many balls.

im not saying frye played great, because he didnt. im not going to give charlie the golden boy treatment they everyone else is, but the steelers D is pretty damn tough, a lot tougher than any D in the MAC.

oh sucks that you had to go to that game. :thumbdown

You didnt prove anybody wrong. That pass to Bryant was behind him. he had to turn all the way around to attempt to catch it.

HEIDEN WAS WIDE OPEN and he couldnt deliever a good pass. There was no reason Heiden should have had left his feet for a ball that shoulda been right on target.

I have seen reciever gloves, I gotta couple friends that play at Ohio State and Bowling Green, do you know how hard the ball comes? Esp in cold weather? That sticky stuff doesnt help much in cold conditions.

I watched the game over and there are one, maybe two, maybe..that were dropped. Dropped to me is the fault of the WR, and only twice at the most, was that the case yesterday.

So wrong..go watch it again.

bryants ball was in between his knees.

next.

heidens pass hit him in the fucking chest, i just looked. if you are telling me that the ball was uncatchable than you are the biggest idiot on this earth. it hit him in the fucking chest, what else do you want?????????????????????

and i must say you are a hyprocrite. before you say that frye doesnt have a great arm, and then you say that gloves dont help when its cold and "do you know how hard the ball comes." you said before that he doesnt have a great arm.

what you are doing is setteling for medocrity for recievers. thats cool, whatever floats your boat. i know i can go and catch a ball where someone throws it as hard as they can without gloves, but hey thats just me. but i also now that i cant hit a reciever in the chest every throw.

go watch some game with brian brennan, and you will see that he didnt wear gloves.

whats you little excuse for him.

Pass was behind bryant. Next.

Heiden had to goto the turf to catch a ball that shoulda bene right on target.

Next.

Gloves dont help when it's cold, put some on, take the weather to about 35º and see how much it helps. He is an NFL QB, he throws the ball pretty hard. Arm strength is something he is lacking. He can not throw the deep ball. Now throwing the ball hard and throwing the ball far are two different things.

Next.

I know for a fact you cant catch a ball...I could take our HS QB, outside in ohio right now and have him throw the ball and you can just stand there. You dont even have to have pads on or be running a route and you wont catch it. Dont kid yourself...catching a football isnt like shooting a free throw.

Brian Brennan may have had good hands? i dont know, i didnt watch him play. Why would i have an excuse for him? You seem to have every excuse in the book for Charlie...so why not make up some more.

Im not settling for anything. our team sucks, period point blank. The only people on this team worth keeping are Baxter, Andruzzi, Braylon, Roye, and Winslow. Everybody else is an avg NFL player. We have some players we can work with like Rube, Chaun, Andra, Bodden, Cutch, Shelton, Coleman, Heiden and thats pretty much it. This is a very bad football team with some not very good players. Our WRs are lacking without Braylon. Bryant is shakey but a solid #2 none the less, Ive never been a big fan of Northcutt.

I dont make excuses for any player on our team...if you suck it up, im gonna call it. too many Browns fans make excuses for certain players. We heard it all last year with Suggs, now we are hearing it with Frye..but atleast Charlie is a rookie and has a chance to improve.

Bottom line...Charlie played like shit, but he knows he has to improve accuracy and decision making.

Why wouldn't you call it on Green though? He was a complete Toe Dipper, for anyone that doesn't know a Toe Dipper is a back that only rushes for the easy yards.

I and many others recall the following...

"Holcombe takes the snap it's a hand to Green he runs horizontally gets hit and takes a loss of 1 on the play."

Sure he was good as a rookie then he completely digressed and sucks, but you won't call that?

I hate to bring this "Will Green" saga up again but it seems like you favor certain players, Green sucks like royally yet you'd prefer him to start over Rube to this day I wager. Charlie didn't play well yes, but who's around him? Not to mention a quality opponent in the Steelers...

i dont care if it was a little behind bryant, the ball was in between his knees and hit him in the hands. you say that you will call out a player if he sucks or doesnt play well, once again you are a hypocrite.

charlie didnt throw the balls perfect, but come on bro they are making millions of dollars to catch a football and block a db. is it asking to much of a professional reciever to catch a pass that is in between his knees or if he has to semi-dive to a ball that hits him in the chest.

to be honest with you we are beating a dead horse here, we just dont have that many good players.

i wouldnt say that i couldnt catch a football from a highschool qb, thats weak bro. you dont know me, so why would you say that, its kind of a immature reponse if you ask me. i wouldnt rag on people for not being able to catch a football or make a jump shot if i didnt excell in it. just becasue i live in sac doesnt mean its not cold out here. oh by the way the game temp was 50 degrees so that kind of kills you point their.

and yes, they only way charlie become the second coming of bernie is to pull out the tire. i dont think charlie will be as accurate as bernie, because bernie was damn accurate, but on the other hand bernie was slow as a snail.

Are you serious? You might want to pick up a copy of hooked on phonics or take a trip to the pre-season and see if you bring this up again. Ill let you do that and see if you make the same comments before i respond fully.

The temp in Cleveland its self may have been 50º...which is an exaggeration but we will say 45º for shits and giggles, but that little thing they call Lake Erie drops the temp way down. I couldnt feel my hands for a reason, it was damn cold. The field temp had to be in the 30's, there is no debate to that.

and Charlies mobility is one reason why people can be excited about him. He can improve his decision making, again he was playing the Steelers and they have an excellent defense, but the point i was making the entire time was that he played a bad game, he got exposed al ittle bit, and that is what he needs to work on. He will probably never be as good as Bernie, but we need him to get that decision making ability because with his feet, he can make things happen.

no doubt.

im hoping that charlie's agility will make up for the lack of accuracy. he doesnt have to be as good as bernie, just as long as he wins the superbowl.
