Embarrassing performance by the defense

Ultimately, Cooper going down in the 2nd, no Ward, and a half-hobbled Garrett was too much to overcome.

Yeah, we had no real chance after that. All we can do is hope we can be healthy. Pretty sad how the defense played, even without Ward and a hobbled Garrett.

Just shows they're not that great, and heavily relied on two great players.

Flacco absolutely pissed this away after an otherwise good performance, but this defense suddenly being completely incapable of pressuring a QB has effectively ended this season.

Fuck.

We're "incapable" of pressuring the QB because the opposing teams are using motion, sweeps, etc... to attack our edges.

The only way we can truly defend that is with a more passive, zone style defense but for some reason our guys are terrible with zone.

Honestly this started with the Colts game but opposing offenses have only started to mimic this regularly in recent weeks.

Was setting for me to eat crow (or rather, Raven) and you throw a virtual pick-6. Worst of all, you didn't need to go downfield so early. Just eat clock and then dagger them.

Browns finally got a breather with the Steelers taking a huge L at home

and now this.

That being said, I blame the defense more than Flacco. Defense was hardly getting any pressure, and that 2nd and 20 was unforgivable. Ward needs to come back.

Thornhill and zadarius smith were suppose to be the 2 big adds to the defense and they haven’t done shit

Those of you complaining about the challenge need to brush up on the rules. He was going to call a TO anyway and you can’t challenge plays under 2 mins. It’s all subject to booth reviews.

The defense only got a couple stops and made no splash plays. Even though they had moments, at no point did I trust the defense I saw today.
