Week 14: Ratbirds (9-4) @ Clowns (5-8) 4:30pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The defensive tackles and lack of NFL caliber linebackers will be crushing your optimism the next few weeks.
Oh I know. Pretty sure I saw that special teamer who I refuse to learn how to spell his name on the field... and it's not like Ragland is better.

And Winfrey is about as stable as KPJ and his strength doesn't matter if he can't hold up in the run game.

But those things don't cause defensive backs to blow assignments like we saw earlier this year.

Winfrey has gone from unplayable, to absolutely someone you invest time in in a matter of weeks.

Just a whole new planet of effort

And that’s my 2023 wishlist in a nutshell- effort. Defense is effort. It’s considerably harder to be a good defense than a good offense, IMO. Especially in the league now.

The NFL Network says we're "still in the hunt". :chuckle:

It would take a miracle that’s for sure.

Would need like four different teams to lose multiple games they shouldn’t.

One thing about how the offense looked today, it was against one of the better defenses in the league. So there's that.

One reason I was pleased with the game management from both Watson and Stefanski. In an AFC North divisional game in December.

Was shocked Baltimore didn’t challenge that 4 and 1. Thought it was close enough and really gave our defense momentum. Either way phenomenal performance from Joe woods and the defense

This is true. Baltimore had the 8th ranked defense according to DVOA coming into the game.

Saints are 15th
Commanders are 9th
Steelers are 13th

So the slate of defenses isn't wildly easy these last three games.

But conversely the Saints (23rd), Commanders (27th) and Steelers (20th) are all having tough years offensively.

Could it be three more Joe Woods job saving slogfest wins?! :puke:

I'd say Baltimore's defense now is significantly better than their season averages.

They had some major injury issues and are finally healthy, plus they added Roquan.

I'm pretty sure they're a top 5 defense now (before the Calais Campbell injury last night)
