Week 3: Titans @ Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Seen some people complain that he was dinking and dunking especially in the first half (always gotta find something to moan about???).

I’m glad he did, it clearly helped his confidence and rhythm as the game went on and if it’s gonna result in a score frankly I don’t care, you don’t get extra points for 1 play touchdowns.

If Josh Allen would dink and dunk every now and then instead of trying bonehead heroball throws every 5 attempts the Bills would be 3-0

exactly. Thinking back now, Week 2 for the Browns was like Week 1 for the Bills.

The biggest criticism of Watson as a Texan was going for the hero play when the easy check down for a first down completion was right there. With Houston, he didn't have a lot of talent around him on offense, just Nuk. Here with the Browns, he needs to trust Njoku, Moore, and some of the middle of the field weapons more.

Hmmmm. Must have not been paying attention to the stats correctly. My bad.

They each caught a ton of passes to get to those 50 yard numbers, which is encouraging.
Lol what are you talking about. 4 total receptions between 3 RBs haha

Our RBs were ok…but they didn’t have to be great because Deshaun played well. But if we want to be really good the running game needs to be alot better.

Bury me. I’m done here. Call my Dad for the funeral.

The Titans have one of the best run defenses in football, so it doesn't surprise me at all that short passes to Moore took a large portion of the "running game" on Sunday.

I think that will continue to be a factor going forward.

I watched Jake Burns' deep dive film session last night and the thing that stuck with me is how well coached the Titans were defensively.

Obviously their defensive line is excellent and were consistently in the right spots at the right times.

But they only had one major coverage bust the entire game (the Cooper TD). Otherwise they were passing off combo routes with great communication, covering play action, and generally doing a very good job with their coverages as well.

Do you think that dictated the offensive gameplan and execution (short passing game and gadget plays)?

I think the gameplan dictated the defense.

We knew that running up the middle into Tennessee's strength was a fool's errand--so we decided to spread them out and stretch them horizontally.

The more you stretch something horizontally, the more pressure your vertical pokes generate--and if you poke enough times, you can eventually get the defense to rip.

I think that played a factor, yes.

But I also think there were some uncharacteristically poor performances mentally from the Browns blockers in the running game and screen game.

Players coming off off double teams too early. Two blockers blocking one player instead of going hat on hat. One blocker expecting another blocker to pick up a man and neither guy making the block.

Just a lot of little things like that that caused a lot of what should have been bigger gains to get torpedoed.
