Bowe's work ethic has been in question for years now. You don't fully guarantee a 31 year old receiver's contract who has had questionable(I'm being generous) work ethic.

A GM in over his head made a panic decision after he ignored the position the full offseason. He literally wasted 9 million dollars after getting cheap on Sheard. Crabtree's contract is cheaper than Bowe's.

He got bit in the ass. It was a high risk play for a high price, and I really don't see where the high reward would have been. Bowe's last 3 year average: 59 catches 743 yards 2.67 touchdowns.

I wouldn't really say we're that bad. We were awful in week one, but we've been in every other game. Our defense certainly needs to be bolstered, though, because they have been terrible thus far.
