Welcome 8th Pick from Brooklyn

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Meaningless poll, but lets play....where will the pick end up after the lottery?

  • Total voters
    246
  • Poll closed .
Anyone else want to trade down with this pick just so we don't have to worry about making the worst pick possible at 8? Like Divincenzo?

This is the type of draft where the player picked late in the first round could be as good or better than a player picked in the late lottery. DiVincenzo is one of a number of players whose stock has been rising.

The only thing I've heard recently is that the Cavs will draft

(1) MPJr if available
(2) SGA or Young (Sexton has also been remored)

LeBron want

My Guess for tomorrow:

(1) Phoenix Suns- DeAndre Ayton
(2) Sacramento Kings- Marvin Bagley
(3) Atlanta Hawks - Luka Doncic
(4) Memphis Grizzlies - Bamba/JJJ
(5) Dallas Mavericks - JJJ/Bamba
(6) Orlando Magic - Trae Young
(7) Chicago Bulls - Michael Porter Jr.
(8) Cleveland Cavaliers - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
(9) New York Knicks - Kevin Knox
(1)) Philadelphia 76ers - Wendell Carter

Memphis is in a tough spot, as none of the top guys want to go there. I feel their pain, as the Cavs were in that spot pre-LeBron. It will be interesting to see what the Grizzlies do.

I wonder why players don't want to go to Memphis. Playing with Conley and Gasol isn't a bad situation. Is it the city?

It’s a small market & the organization has a less than sterling reputation.

They've already made an offer to trade out of #4 + Parson for Clippers #12 and #13 picks and the Clippers declined.

Sacramento is in the same position with a few key guys refusing to work out. I still can't believe they're blowing the chance to draft Doncic who would've fit perfectly on that roster as the secondary ball handler.

CLE out: Hill, Smith, Osman, Love, Clarkson, #8
CLE in: Beal, Gortat, Kemba, Batum, #15

CHA out: Kemba, Batum
CHA in: Hill, Smith, Osman

WAS out: Beal, Gortat, #15
WAS in: Love, Clarkson, #8

Draft Lonnie Walker or DiVincenzo at #15

Kemba
Beal, Korver, Walker/DiVincenzo
Batum, Hood, Green
Bron, Nance,
Gortat, TT, Zizic

ATL IN: #6, Tristan Thompson, Terrance Ross
CLE IN: #19, PG13
OKC IN: Bazemore, Augustin, #19 (throw them a future 1st if need be)
ORL IN: #8, Dennis Schroeder

Atlanta sheds a bunch of money and moves all the way to 6 to nab two franchise pieces. Orlando only drops 2 spots but gets their PG. We get our all-star and retain a pick. OKC gets a complimentary wing, a good bench piece and a 1st rounder for a guy that is prepping to walk.

I just don't think that is enough for Charlotte. I'd think Charlotte would need at least the #15 pick as well.

Then they can keep Kemba, we'll find a PG with Hill's expiring at the deadline. Teams are going to covet cap space for the 19' FA class!

Hey could people try and keep their trade fantasies in the thread entitled "
Trade the 8th pick? Where? Why? How?". I don't want to come off as trying to mod here, but it's a little annoying to come into this thread expecting to see talk about who we should draft only to see countless posts about trading the pick , when there's already a separate thread for that.

Your trade ideas, bro. Bleh

We don't want to do the deadline stuff again and have to worry about piecing team together with 30 games left and I highly doubt we'll be finding an All-Star point guard at the deadline either

It’s pretty low and shortsighted of those agents to keep their players from working out with certain teams. If I were being considered for a top 5 pick I’d relish the chance to be the GOAT of a franchise, no matter their “reputation.” Worst comes to worst, you leave in 6 years and go anywhere you want.
