Welcome Amari Cooper

Not at all. This is a great move no matter what else happens.
Agreed.

The Browns are building the team around the WR position. And then when they get it, they will be in prime position to make a run at a Super Bowl.

The Browns are a QB and a good WR2 at being a Super Bowl team.

Probably cements an EDGE or DL at #13 for the draft.

Still need another top receiver if you want to play for the big prize. Assuming Landry is gone DPJ is our second best receiver and Schwartz is third. That's not nearly good enough IMO.

When Landry started using Twitter to explain why he shouldn't take a restructure, it felt like the end. I'd hoped he would change his mind, but it's best to start planning a new set of weapons.

I do like Landry leaving a heck of a lot more with Cooper under contract!

Way easier to stomach, I agree.

The "draft two receivers in the first two days" crowd didn't jive with me. Amare isn't a vocal alpha guy, but losing Landry as the clear leader would have been rough without a top dawg coming in.

To be transparent, I like the WR class so much that I had hoped for a two WR draft.

This cements, at least in my eyes, that round 1 (should we have one…) will likely be defense.

This doesn’t cement that at all lol

Yeah, I agree.

In fact, it almost makes me want to take a WR at 13 (if we keep the pick) even more.

Pairing one of those rooks with Cooper seems ideal for both parties, honestly.

Williams and London, both recovering from serious injury, have much less immediate pressure to produce with Cooper on board.

I'd personally still lean towards edge, just more value at #13. The roster construction with Watson in play just resets everything. The possibilty that #13 turns into Watson and they move Baker to get back into the early picks is real.
