Jason Lloyd had a tidbit in his mailbag column:
Some more nuggets in that column, and I encourage you to read it:

I may have missed it, but I don't think I had heard of this minor, but lingering, injury till now. Probably the sort of thing aging veterans routinely have to deal with, and wasn't something that was generally known.
I'm probably in the minority on Marion, but I have felt he has been fine and has generally performed his role. He started off strong on the corner 3, and since has fallen off dramatically, and that has been disappointing because it hurt offensive spacing. But generally you don't expect any offense from him. Earlier in the year when he was starting at SG, back when the team effectively didn't have a starting caliber shooting guard, I think people were impressed he was able to do as well as he did defensively on the perimeter.
He also doesn't do bad things -- he doesn't turn it over and he doesn't shoot if he doesn't have a good shot (he has taken exactly zero long 2's all year per basketballreference.com). He still rebounds and he has a knack for getting his hand on the ball and blocking shots.
I mean, I'm not complaining about Blatt playing Shump and/or JR as the backup at SF -- that's clearly been a benefit to the offense -- but I think Marion still has his uses, though it would be a help if he could show he can hit the corner 3 at a 35% clip again.
