I liked this pick at the time, still do. I think your basement is Justice Winslow, which is still a contributing NBA player. Ceiling is Jimmy Butler, and Andre Igudala is your higher end mid level. He's got a great feel (hard to teach), and he a great motor (harder to teach) and supposedly a great work ethic (impossible to teach). So that makes make me think he has a great chance at getting to his ceiling or at least near it.

Look at it on Sexton: if Collin had the feel for the game, is there any doubt he'd be a near all star right now, since you know he works his tail off and he is relentless. Okoro has the feel part down, and he doesn't need the ball to be effective.. I really don't think Issac will be a bust, maybe not an all star, but not bust.

This guy will be a bust. Lacks feel for the game, athleticism and overall friendliness.

Average hair

I'm not the only one calling Isaac Okoro the next Kawhi Leonard. NBA scouts have been calling him the next Kawhi way before the draft.

Bickerstaff said Okoro sent him a defensive clip to ask questions about it, and no player had ever done that before. The kid does his homework.

I won't say Kawhi because that is absolute tippy top upside. The things they have in common are their motor, defensive IQ, and finishing ability. Kawhi had that passing ability too in college. He wasn't a black hole. His usage was 24 as a freshman and 27 as a sophomore. Okoro is around 20.

They aren't the same, but Okoro is starting from a similar place.

Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler, Andre Iguodala, Jaylen Brown & Donovan Mitchell all had worse 3 point shooting percentages in college. Leonard, Butler & Brown are pretty accurate comparisons to Okoro. His shot is totally fixable. His form isn't bad at all.

Okoro keeps proving -- whether in his one year at Auburn or the early days of camp -- that he can be an impactful offensive player. His size, speed, strength, athleticism and around-the-rim finishing package have him looking like a force in transition. He’s a good cutter without the ball and he’s constantly getting into the paint, creating shots for himself or teammates.

“He does a great job attacking close outs and he has a great feel for the game,” Bickerstaff said. “For a guy who plays at such a speed, he’s always on balance. So, the passes he makes are always on time and on target passes because he’s always under control. He is a really good facilitator. He makes his teammates better and makes it hard to guard defensively.” - Fedor, 12/11/20

Exciting stuff especially considering he's 19 years old with one year of college ball. How many 19-year-olds actually make their NBA teammates better? I mean, other than LeBron?

The amount of dick riding of Okoro on this forum has been monumental.
Yeah, we'd do this with every prospect. Gotta find optimism where you can when you're a small market team.

but I won't pretend like he can shoot, has a good enough handle, and he's long to enough to guard long 3's. Because until proven otherwise, he can't shoot has a crappy handle and has suboptimal length for wings.

I like that he’s the next Kawhi. With KPJ obviously the next Jimmy, Sexton the next Jamal Crawford, Windler the next Korver and Garland the next Dajuan Wagner, we might really have something good cooking here.

We are only a few weeks away from game threads where half of you people want Okoro cut.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Turn, turn, turn.
