I thought he did really well in his debut. His 1 on 1 defense was really good and loved his foot movement and posture against Oladipo.

On offense he just kinda sit in the corner in the beginning but when he got the ball, he quickly made a move and basically passed to the open man which really helped the ball movement or directly gave the next man an assist. Such high BBIQ.

Then he just felt relaxed and played his game and with confidence on offense and finished well. Made some 3s too which was exciting.
So much potential and so excited to have him.

Body control, maintaining strength in the air and finishing with both hands on both sides of the rim. He’s gonna score 10+ easy points a night right around the basket from run outs, fast breaks, steals, putbacks. He’s gonna be productive defensively and efficient out of the gate. His three ball has new arc and the ball rotates immediately out of his hand now. He’s been putting in work. If he can shoot 75/35% from FT and 3 eventually and he’s gonna be a nightmare for opposing teams. Don’t know how they keep him off the FT line long term. He’s a monster inside good luck moving him off his spot if you’re another guard or small wing.

one preseason game of course..but it’s a good sign that pre season game 1 was full of him bringing the best pieces of his college highlight tapes to NBA competition. I think he will be an extremely productive rookie. He’s gonna win us some games we didn’t expect to win too with that effort and motor. He’s an absolute bulldog defensively. High IQ team defender who plays passing lanes aggressively and great man to man technique.

That was why I wanted him to be the pick. It doesn't take much projection for him to be a nightmare for opponents. But with his reported work ethic, not only does he help Sexton try to change the culture of the post LeBron malaise, but he can be a legitimate star someday.

Basically...

I want to see him and Sexton play together....He needs to shoot the wide open three instead of driving it.

Yeah he just has so much you want out of an nba player.

He passed up a couple of shots in the first and looked nervous. Wow did he make up for that in the 4th, and he had several momentum changing defensive plays.

He's farther ahead on defense than I thought. Man can he finish around the basket. Unbelievable touch around the rim

Great first game. One thing with Okoro is that he "looks" small. He looks shorter than Oladipo, may be it's the camera angle. I think the Cavs see him as a 2-guard that can defend 1-3 depending on the match-ups. Now the cavs have a glut of shooting guards that need playing time to develop (Sexton, KPJ, Okoro, Windler?)

That's why I want him and Sexton to play together because they can go to the basketball easily. Defenses will probably view Sexton more of a threat but,if Sexton could see Okoro going to the basket that will be an easy two points for Okoro....imo

People really seem to be hung up on Isaac's height. I see him as a wing who can guard 1-4, I think he's very versatile that way. His strength and quickness should allow him to be an effective defender against all types of players. I think he's tall enough, doesn't seem like an issue to me, position is determined by who you can guard.

I really loved his defense and his ability to work the baseline. That's his bread and butter. His jumper does have a weird release but he knocked down shots. I think his swing skill is actually ball handling so that he can increase his shots in the paint
