The amount of dick riding of Okoro on this forum has been monumental.

Why not?
I'll take any excuse to be slightly happier, if only for a day. He looked promising skill wise, and we should be happy about it for the time being.

I’m convinced that some people around RCF want to ensure our misery never dies.

Imagine sitting in a Pub somewhere right outside of Chicago in December of 84’ - hearing the language of a drunk man shouting obscenities at a 32” color tube zenith because a young Michael Jordan appeared to captivate the rest of the patrons at the bar.

Don’t be that guy.

Figured the sarcasm and the fact that I copied someone else's post word-for-word would have been apparent...
My bad, it did sound familiar. Just a bit annoyed by all the similar takes on Twitter as well.
In any case, so far so good even if the bumps will surely come in due time.

One of the more satisfying things about watching Okoro: seeing that we finally have a wing that looks like a top tier athlete on his way to the rim. I think he's our first since 2018.

Here. On a more serious note.

Didn't quite get the nitpicking of Okoro, especially in Cleveland. He checks literally every box for me.

Athleticism, length, strength, feel for the game, feel for the drive-and-kick game for a wing, defensive awareness, competitiveness, work ethic, drama free. Literally everything you would want in a lottery pick in a place like Cleveland he has in spades.

The questions about his jumper made no sense either. We've been through this song and dance before with Sexton, who is built similarly mentally to Okoro, and he went from questions about his shooting/shooting spread coming into the league to a 39% 3 point shooter as a pro on almost 4 attempts per game. I see no reason why Okoro won't do that same thing, considering what we know about him and now seeing how smooth his jumper looks in game action.

I have loved what Sexton has given us in his 2 years as a pro, that is not a secret on this board, and even more so considering his question marks coming into the draft and into his professional career and how he has changed some of those into strengths (shooting, shot selection/spread, scoring).

We, in my mind, essentially just drafted the wing version of Sexton who has a natural position he can defend. We should be head over heels over what kind of development we might see out of him in the coming season.

I don't want to get carried away here but this guy is a young Jimmy Butler...
we may have finally drafted the stud of the draft at 5.
I hate pidgeon-holing guys, but to me Okoro is a mix of Kawhi, Butler, Iguodala, and, from a physique standpoint, Clarence Weatherspoon. He’s the future at small forward for the Cavs.

Awesome game for Okoro. I hope the board doesn’t skewer him when the inevitable ups and downs happen. Defense doesn’t slump and we could sure use that.

If Sexton, Okoro, and Garland can all just get a bunch of minutes together and become positive players, that’s a great foundation.

Some of the scouting I saw called him a defensive playmaker. That's exactly what he did that last play. He executed the contest perfectly and then put himself immediately in position to score.

This is exactly what a good team does. They stop the other team and take advantage. Its not just athleticism or skill, it's applying those things with your IQ to win and it is a star trait.

That's why I loved this guy the second I saw his tape.
