all this draft coverage, and not being able to participate is now starting to piss me off

so, what are the realistic chances of getting a draft pick ? and if so, is it more likley a 2nd round pick.. or is that memphis pick #19 still there for the taking ?

we need in, and the thing is less the 24 hours away

you'll have to wait till the team we trade with is on the clock, if our trade doesn't fall through that is.

Hard to say, we have had a GM for less than 24 hours. He doesnt know where other teams stand with our players or what work has been done by the interim staff..

We probably wont get a first round pick, but I dont beleive that hurts us in this draft. With so many PGs, we can find a backup late first into the second round.

So in that case, I think somebody will take Welsch for a second rounder.

Jiri should be enough to get us a second rounder and Sasha is probably good for a mid to late first rounder. There has also been some talk of trading Drew for a lottery pick. I hope we at least get a second rounder. I think there are a lot of potential second round steals in this draft.

I second the notion that this draft coverage is pissin me off.

To think we could be talking about a late lottery selection makes me even more pissed.

Throw in the fact that we may try to net a 2nd rounder for Jiri.

What a pisser.

Yeah i like randolph morris who is slated to be a 2nd round pick. I watched him play against dwight howard a couple times and came away impressed with his game. Hes got a big body, is decently athletic and has a post game. He will also block you shots, although his stats in college i suppsoe wont tell u much of what i believe he is capable of doing. he has a lot of maturing left but I think he has a bright future.

if the Cavaliers do get in the 2nd rd. i would mind picking up Turiaf, Ewing, Head, Hodge, Stoudamire, or Thompson

I could see Welsch being traded for a second.

I could see Sasha being traded for a mid-late first.

I could see a mid-late first being bought by the Cavaliers.

All told, I'm definately going to watch the draft very closely to see what exactly goes down.

This is unless Ferry believes that with only 8 roster spots filled, they may hold off trades to get into the draft. Jiri may get us a second rounder, but there may not be players worthy of us picking them up.

The problem I see with welsh is his trade value is at an all time low. It may be a better idea to hold onto him and deal him during the preseason, give him ample time to prove himself in preseason, show teams that he has value, I think that will be a better way to go in the long run, and we may be able to get solid value at a position of greater need if we have some patience, and showcase him then. If welsh does good, we can get more than a 2nd round pick.

I don't think any of yuo really believe welsh isn't going to be bale to put himself back together by october.

This is of course if we're looking for value, not just looking for salary space.

If Jiri is not part of the solution, move him out. We have Pavs, Jackson, Newble, that are all middle of the road "swing men". I think Pavlovich was doing well at the end of last season, and he looks to me to be the best potential, with Newble being the obvious "crafty veteran" choice. While Jiri lays the blame for his tank job on an early injury, he never really looked at home. If they elect to keep Jiri, then I think they will try to move Jackson.

The whole key to Welsch is not what we get in a trade for him but what we don't get. Welsch will be moved if the Cavs can get a 2nd round pick without taking a player back.

I don't believe the Cavs are even trying to get into the first round. A first round pick counts against the cap regardless if the player is signed, thats not the case with second round picks.

I don't think Welsh will, ar has ever been worth a first rounder. Sure, he has some skills...but the position he plays is always loaded with talent. He can average 12 - 3 - 3 and probably not yield a first rounder (maybe late). Therefore, we're only looking at a range of about 15 or 20 picks (from very late first to mid second). One can find a gem within that range at any time.

If he is given time, his value will only be highest around the trade deadline (just like we did). I believe his contract is up after this year (maybe an option), giving a team flexibility at years end and a player, that if proven throughout the first half, may help with a playoff push for a team on the bubble.

I would like to get a second rounder for Welsch to take Deiner and call it a night. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get a player like a Deron Williams or Hakim Warrick on this team, but the cost in trading up and the cost in buying a pick isn't worth it to me right now.

Warrick will be a bust.

There are plenty of PGs we can get at the vet min rather than wasting a pick on Diener.
