The Saints are drafting a QB fellas.

Brees has a $12 million dollar bonus due next year, do you really think they are going to keep him???? That is an outrageous number.

Brees is taking a one year stop to show that his shoulder is healthy before he signs with somebody else again next year.

The Saints, in the meantime, will draft a QB and let him sit a year while he gets to learn the game a little before being thrown to the wolves.

Well, for a QB it's pretty important that you have something going on upstairs, at least at the NFL level. So a poor wonderlic should set off a red flag, but it doesn't eliminate the player out right. I like what Speilman had to say on it. I will paraphrase here:

"You need to be football smart to play QB in the NFL. Does a low wonderlic mean you can't understand football? Maybe, maybe not. If I was interested in Young, I'd sit him down in front of film and have him tell me what defenses we were looking at. If he could analyse film, I wouldn't worry about his test score."
