I have no belief whatsoever that Hughes will move. Tempted away by a better team? It's all a matter of perspective. Of course, as Cavs fans, we want to believe that we're better than any other team in the NBA. Being realistic, we're not the best, but right about par with the Wizards. Wizards fans, on the other hand, believe the opposite: the trio of Arenas-Hughes-Jamison is the best in the NBA. I'm sure Hughes shares the same opinion. New team, young, upcoming, surprising. They're going places. Remember, they made the playoffs, and we didn't. I believe it's pretty much a lock that Hughes is staying in Washington, I just can't see him leaving. Washington will have to give him as much as any other, possibly more. There's absolutely no incentive to leave.
like i said in my original post i am not saying he will end up with the Cavaliers, but i do think he ends up going to a team that is either closer to contending or is a contender. and while you can talk about that young exciting trio and how they made the playoffs maybe Hughes thinks their potential is maxed out. they had a battle with the Bulls and then got waxed in the 2nd rd. who knows, maybe he is a guy who would be happy just taking the max from the Wiz and playing his days there. maybe he is a guy who thinks if he signs there long term for big dollars along with Jamison's, and Gilbert's deals the team won't have room to improve around them. all i am saying is i don't think he is a 100% lock to stay put, maybe he signs in Minny for the mid-level for 1 year then works out a big deal after Cassell and Kandi are off the books.
but i wasn't saying that Cleveland is any closer at this point then Washington and i wasn't suggesting he signs with the Cavaliers. but i hope after this summer Cleveland is closer then the Wiz to big things.
