I hate stiff drinks....but I am going to need one tonight. What's the best bottle I can buy under $25 at any liquor store?

under $10.00, gets the job done, and oddly prophetic about tonight's winner.

Four Roses Small Batch: Bolder and spicier than their Yellow Label
Eagle Rare 10 Year
Old Grand Dad 114: Very bold Bourbon. (114 proof get the job done real quick)
Evan Williams Single Barrel
Elijah Craig
Maker’s 46

Tried Knob Creek for somehow the first time tonight. Solid sipping bourbon. Feels kind of like a slightly smoother Woodford.

Have you ever tried Russell's 10 year reserve? It is pretty strong (as far as high rye bourbon's go) but it is real good.

Bought a bottle of Jefferson's Reserve today as a Christmas present for myself. Just poured a bit and it's quite good. Very smooth. Almost no burn at all. Highly recommended.

Sazerac Rye

has been quickly going up my list. I saw it at costco somewhere (maybe kansas?), and decided to try it. Its absolutely fantastic if you like ryes.

You can find it at a liquor store pretty easily, but only some costco's have it, and its generally 5-10 dollars less at costco

I tried that for the first time about a month ago when I found a bottle down in South Carolina. It's not easy to find around here, though. It was the only bottle in the store.

I agree it's very good, as are most Buffalo Trace products.

Check out High West Double Rye or Rendezvous Rye if you want some other quality ryes. They are wildly different in flavor (and the Rendezvous is almost twice the price), but I enjoy both.

My favorite common rye is Rittenhouse 100 proof.

Favorite craft is green hat. Whistelpig is also really good.

Old forester is making rye next year for the first time in 150 years. Gonna try it when I see it

Old Forester already has a rye for like 25 bucks. About the same price as Rittenhouse, which I agree is great for the price.

I really need to try Pykesville, which is an older, higher ABV Rittenhouse.

Looks like I misread. It came out February of this year--not next year. Still haven't seen it on shelves. Maybe I haven't looked closely.
