Here we go with the "LeBron & the coach" talk.
I remember Spoelstra's first year in Miami, when they started off with the same exact record after 15 games that we have right now, people were saying he was already on the chopping block, that Riley would be taking over by the end of the year, that LeBron phased Spoelstra out, etc..
Replace "Riley" with "generic former player" (I know Riley was a former player) and the media is spinning the same exact things.
This is mind-blowingly similar to Miami's first year of the Big 3 era that it's kinda creepy, actually..
I'm very skeptical about Miller.
He hasn't played the last two games which have happened to be blowout wins and suddenly he's going to be starting? The defense is just starting to gel and throwing in a poor defensive player right now into more minutes doesn't make much sense
Windy also said that stats like "PER" or "RPM" are telling that LeBron isn't even a top 10 player in the NBA right now.
No he said that people are telling him that those numbers say Lebron isn't even a top 10 player. His insinuation is that he doesn't agree with that assessment.Windy also said that stats like "PER" or "RPM" are telling that LeBron isn't even a top 10 player in the NBA right now.
Windy actually told a pretty interesting anecdote from a league executive who said Vegas bookmakers basically have two meetings every time they set their lines. They meet once with the analytics guys, then have them leave. Then they meet with their scouts, then have them leave. Then they set the line based on the way both sets of information align.Remember that one time I said stats don't tell a full story and got roasted for it?
Yeah.

That's the balance needed with analytics.
