01. What Kyrie did against the Spurs was historic.
02. Kyrie got the ultimate respect when the Spurs put Leonard on him to guard him.
03. Most remarkable for Kyrie is that he scored the 57 points on just 32 shots.
04. Kyrie's outing against the Spurs was likely as close to a "perfect game" as any player can have.
05. Spurs were frustrated because they could not guard Kyrie.
06. Cavs offense actually stunk in the Spurs game. Kyrie just did it himself.
07. Spurs really wanted to win the Cavs game.
08. Cavs are 13-1 against the West dating back to January.
09. Cavs won the Spurs game because of missed free throws.
10. Cavs did not handle themselves well as a team in the 4th quarter vs Spurs.
11. Kyrie, LeBron bailed out Cavs in the 4th quarter. Spurs outplayed the Cavs then (in execution).
12. I thought 4th quarter vs Spurs, the Cavs were being out executed and out strategized by the Spurs. This includes David Blatt.
13. In 4th quarter, the game was moving too fast for Blatt and the Cavs. Spurs were better than them.
14. The Cavs were not running offensive plays down the stretch against the Spurs.
15. Cavs played "my turn, your turn" with LeBron, Kyrie down the stretch vs Spurs.
16. Kyrie was just so good, it did not matter that Spurs executed better than Cavs did late.
17. Kyrie's performance is not sustainable over the long haul, against the Spurs (or others).
18. Cavs did not perform well mentally or in execution late in the Spurs game.
19. Blatt wanted Cavs to switch all pick and rolls (on defense) late in Spurs game. This is why Mozgov and Love not playing late against the Spurs. Blatt went with most athletic lineup he could so he could play this defense.
20. Tristan Thompson was great against the Spurs.
21. Cavs switching defense late not effective with like Shumpert guarding Duncan or Jones guarding Duncan. This was not effective. This defensive strategy was going to cost the Cavs the game (with no Love or Mozgov to guard the Spurs bigs). This tactic by Blatt was not prudent, even though it ended up working in the end.
22. Spurs got up by 9 points late because of schematic deficiencies on the part of the Cavs.
23. Spurs were carving Cavs up late on defense, and Blatt still did not substitute or adjust.
24. Spurs winning the game up 9 late in their own building is a 99.7% chance that opponent loses.
25. Cavs lineup on the court late against Spurs also limited the Cavs in terms of offensive options.
26. The play that was drawn up to get Kyrie the final shot in regulation was a good play.
27. I credit the Cavs for a lot of amazing individual plays in the Spurs game. However, the way the Cavs conducted themselves in the 4th quarter against the Spurs did not show a lot of growth from the team (I think he means Blatt here) since like the Rockets game.
28. Host - I agree with pretty much all of your evaluation of the Spurs game.
29. Host - Cavs 4th quarter game management has been an issue for at least a month.
30. Cavs can't rely on great individual performances to carry them in a playoff series for 4 wins.
31. I can see why, in certain situations, you don't have Love on the court late in games. But to also not play Mozgov (seems like a bad strategy).
32. Cavs lineup let Diaw stay on the floor for the Spurs. Spurs are easier to handle when you force Splitter onto the court with Duncan instead.
33. I'm not as focused on the lineups; I'm more focused on showing growth in the execution on the court.
34. I just haven't seen growth in the execution by the Cavs late in games.
35. Houston game was a prime example of poor execution late in a Cavs game.
36. Cavs have more firepower than the Heat did. One reason for this is because Wade always needed screens set for him (and Kyrie does not).
37. Heat with LeBron had same execution issues early on that the Cavs are having now.
38. Heat were able to overcome their execution issues is their first year, until the finals. And then Dallas shut them down.
39. When you have two great scorers, you want to put one inside and one outside.
40. When you have three stars, put one outside and one inside and one at like the elbow.
41. Using Love in the corner rather than at the elbow doesn't seem to make much sense.
42. I would love to see growth, in terms of these schemes. But I did not see it in the Spurs game.
43. This lack of growth will cost the Cavs down the line.
44. Some coaches like to switch on pick and rolls most of the time. Usually it is done in the 4th quarter.
45. Switching on pick and rolls can be most effective way to guard it because the offense then gets no real space from running the play.
46. Switching on pick and rolls not done for long periods of time because it is easy to exploit, with mismatches.
47. Thompson is one of the few bigs in the league who can guard smaller guys on pick and rolls.
48. Kevin Love had some issues guarding Boris Diaw in the Spurs game.
49. The lineup and the strategy (switching on pick and rolls) used by the Cavs late against the Spurs was questionable.
50. LeBron's game is moody. He goes through phases during a season where he decides what he wants to do. And then he will change this approach (like being on the perimeter for awhile, then wanting to post up more in other games).
51. Kyrie is starting to show that big games don't affect him.
52. LeBron is "refreshed" by how good Kyrie is. LeBron likes having players that can actually help him.
