Can I get some input on this game? A Co worker said he wanted to start playing it and I was wondering if it was worth me giving it a shot... want to know what you guys think of game thanks.

I played for years and it was fun. I played really early on so I went through a lot of annoying grindy situations. So when Blizzard made it a lot easier it kind of irked me for all the time spent. However, it's super casual and you level up fast. And they've made it so you can find people to do stuff with pretty easy, PvE or PvP. I'd say give it a shot if you haven't tried it before - it's pretty cheap now and you can cancel whenever.

I didn't know people still played this. I remember in HS a lot of kids were obsessed with it. I never played though. PC games not my thing.

All I ever heard of the game is that it's extremely addictive.
And then there was the Leeroy Jenkins video.

Leroy Jenkins is one of main reasons I feel I need to play this game.

Super addictive... they called it virtual crack for a reason. Still a lot of people play, but no where near as many as they once .. but you are still looking at 7 million people on (it was at 11 million the start of last year) -- they will eventually go to a free to play format for this, they have to because they keeping losing people to other MMORPG that are free to play.

Anyway, its a lot of fun... i start up for 3-6 months every year in January then stop the second half so I don't get dumped by my girlfriend.

WoW isn't going free to play any time soon. As long as there are a few million subs they will continue to make money hand over fist. No other MMORPG is really close, and the f2p ones are pretty terrible in comparison. WoW will continue to slowly decline in sub base because the game is really old, but it's going to keep chugging along for a while with it's current economic model.

It's still the same price it was the day it came out. $14.99/month, or cheaper if you pay for longer terms.

I starting playing the game early too and I see the changes they've made now and it's only a shell of its former greatness. Once you get to a certain point in the game, joining a guild almost becomes mandatory to keep progressing. You will quickly grow tired of the drama, bullshit, favoritism, etc. that comes with a guild and it may sour your taste for the game. I know it did mine.

My advice: level up, get some quality gear, and enjoy the PvP stuff. That shit was a blast!

Just don't go around "betraying" people, or whatever that's about. I have no idea about this game.

I play it. It's a different game than it used to be, but it's now MUCH more friendly to new players like you. It's also insanely cheap at the moment. Do the free trial, you get to level up to level 20 without paying a cent. If you like it, keep going.

Raiding, or 10-25 people working together to kill a single boss, is still my favorite gaming experience to date.
