Taking the chance that I get HUGELY flamed here...

With Hughes and LBJ, could we run a triangle type offense and be successful? That system does not require a true PG to work. We have a center that would be a HUGE help in that system. Anytime the opponents D tried to stop our ball movement.....lob it in to Z and instant score. Our 2 mediocre points would become much better because all the triangle requires is ball movement(and moving without the ball). IMO it's a sophisticated MOTION offense. Even Drew would be more effective because he is athletic. In fact the whole style of offense really fits our teams strengths.

It doesn't help our D, but our O sure could use SOMETHING.

Am I wrong?

Its a good thought Aces.. I would broaden it out to ask the same defensively.

Our problem at point is that other guards score 20 points a night more than our guards do. Either we need to be more productive at the point or we need to be more effective at limiting the other guys. The fact that we have had this problem with a variety of players in the position might indicate a weakness in the offensive and or defensive scheme.

Offensively, I think we need to improve somewhat, but on the whole we are pretty good offensively simply because we have so many people on the floor that can score so many ways. I think defensively is where we might do better. The new rules really free the quicker outside guards. Perhaps there is a defensive scheme that addresses this.

I wouldn't trust our coaching staff in terms of implementing it. It's a process in getting that system up and running effiecently, even with coaches experienced in it.

Bring Jimmy Cleamons back as an offensive assistant, and get it implemented ...and it could work very well with us. But, that's not going to happen. Our coaching staff thinks they can handle it, get the job done, and do it their way.........I'm a skeptic to say the least.

But, Mike Brown needs to be given this season to see how he can advance himself as a head coach ....I'll be watching keenly.
