Punk being legit hurt and having to go away for a while is probably the best thing that could possibly happen for anyone hoping for him to return to AEW.

Gives this time to heal the wounds, literally and figuratively, and gives Tony the cover of not being forced to fire him immediately if he doesn't want to.

We'll see how it goes. He might get fired anyway.

Terrific point in regards to Tony.

He always seems a step too slow, and a bit unwilling to step in and make guys look bad. He should have stopped Punk almost instantly.

But giving him cover is 100% what he needs.

The last 2-3 months of wrasslin, man...starting with the Vince scandal to Corporate Haitch getting the rub, brother - quickly fixing a whole lot of patches in WWE that had kept me away to now this WWF level backstage drama. Seismic events compared to the last decade or so. The Punk news was even mentioned on Barstool's Pardon My Take.
