Basically ranking guys from 2000 on. So 21 years I suppose. Name one guy who (in your opinion) gets lost in the sauce when it comes to great players of this century.

For me it's Mark Teixeria without question. Granted if he would have eclipsed over 2000 hits he may get more love.

But hitting over 400 HR's as a switch hitter does not suck. Not to mention elite level defense as a 1st baseman. 5 gold gloves and a world series ring in a year in which he finished 2nd in the MVP race.

Its hard to call Mark T underrated when he got rated ahead of CC Sabathia as a free agent after the 2008 season.

Since both guys signed with the Bankee$$$, the 1st Round NY pick went to LA Angels (& was used to select Mike Trout) while the MKE Brewers all of a 2nd round NY Yankee pick for losing CC Sabathia in free agency..

The Brewers got screwed by that setup....

A guy on that "but everybody respects him already" level is Buster Posey. I know, I know... he won a National League MVP, always went to All Star games, yada yada yada. But after he was gone all last year and now he is back, looking healthy enough to swing the bat again... dude is just a national treasure calling the game for his pitchers.

He has definitely been forgotten. He had a lot of early success and has been injured or on bad teams as of late.

He was playing on a bad hip for a few years, and it killed his bat speed. He took last season off because he adopted twins, and he already has two homers this season. Don't want to jinx him, but I think Posey is finally healthy again.

I actually think people underrate Miguel Cabrera because his past few years of being so bad are so fresh in our minds.

Dude was basically Pujols-level and is a sure-fire first-ballot hall of famer. Pretty sure he won a triple crown in there as well.

I know it's supposed to be ranking players from 2000, but I have to mention Lofton. 68.4 WAR, 'only' made $60 million, and kicked to the curb for the HOF way too soon.
Was just about to say this. Lofton's chance at the HOF he was given so few votes he was removed from the ballot.

And dude put up HOF numbers

It's laughable how fast he was kicked to the curb. That is a real debate; if his numbers are HOF worthy. I personally think they are, but like in his last year of eligibility, and not via the veterans committee. I hope the VC corrects this wrong, but it shouldn't be up to them.
