I hated trading that pick. The only way that trade for the Orlando 2nd rounders works out is if Dwight leaves... and now that seems like a 50/50 shot at best.

Here is a quick list of players available who could help the Cavs and what they are up to right now:

-Kyle Singler will be starting at small forward for Real Madrid for the next two years. He is behind Daye and Prince at small forward for the Pistons and decided to stay in Europe after the lockout ended.

-Chandler Parsons is averaging 7.3 points and 5 rebounds with an assist and steal per game as the starting small forward for the Houston Rockets.

-Jon Leuer just won a starting job with the Bucks, averaging 7 points, 4 rebounds, and one assist with great shooting percentages at 19 minutes a game.

-Josh Harrellson is averaging 5.5 points and 4.5 rebounds at 20 minutes per game as the backup center for the Knicks. He also hit on 34% of his threes spacing the floor.

you could also make the argument that we could have used that 32nd pick and for example Boobie/Sessions to move up a few spots to pick Marshon Brooks who looks very good so far (i think he was drafted 25th by the Nets)

but looking at your list i don't think we missed out on a lot of talent so far although it's still pretty early

I'm pretty sure the Cavs exhausted all options to trade up for players they targeted, and failed to find a taker. That is why I left such an option out of the poll.

I feel Parsons has the most potential. I wouldn't mind having Leuer either as he has looked solild so far. Either way, I'd rather have either of them instead of Mike Thompson, Harangody, and Hollins.

damn your answer (with my quote) still shows my statement

"but looking at your list i don't think we missed out on a lot of talent so far although it's still pretty early"

that i quickly tried to erase after looking a bit more indepth into what Chandler Parsons is doing in Houston :D

I wouldn't have minded Chandler Parsons at all. Although I disagree with the "50/50 at best" for Howard leaving. I think he's a goner unless Orlando magically :)chuckles:) trades for a very nice second option, or lots of cap space for a second option.

Luer is going to have a long career. He's athletic and can hit the 3.

I picked Harrelson because I'm a Kentucky fan.

I would have picked John Luer from that list on draft day. Very tough guy. Plays defense and can hold his own in the middle.

I hated that trade, too, but if I had the choice now to have any of the players mentioned versus two future high-2nd-rounders (I think Dwight Howard will leave), I might have to go with the 2nd rounders. If I had to pick a player, probably Leuer. I guess I'm not convinced the players listed above would be able to contribute in the long haul. And it's hard to develop so many young players at once on the same team.

I'm interested to see what the Cavs do with the picks. If they just waste them on players unlikely to ever contribute something here or even come here (Milan Macvan, Ejike Ugboaja), then they've made a really stupid mistake with #32. If they end up trading one of the Orlando picks for something that helps, or if they pick someone who has a chance to contribute down the road, I'll forgive Grant for a forgettable 2nd round last year.

It's unlikely that any of those guys would be playing anyway; but harrelson certainly looks stronger than Hollins or erden. Like l-train said, I would have loved to see them move up and get Brooks, oh well.

I didn't like trading the pick at the time but I've changed my mind and don't have a problem with it. I look more at players I was interested in on draft night rather than who I'd take now in hindsight. On draft night Tyler Honeycutt, Jeremy Tyler and Malcolm Lee were 3 names I considered for that spot. Don't think Cavs missed out on much although it's way too soon to make any full judgment.

I think Howard will leave too so those picks could be at least mid 2nd rounders.

At the time, I really wanted Justin Harper. Then we happened to draft Justin Harper and trade him immediately.

Yea, I was very excited when we took Harper. Then we traded him like right after I called my friend to talk about him. :(
