2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
NBA Mock Draft: Chad Ford Version 5.0

The Cleveland Cavaliers ended up with the fourth pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and ESPN's guru Chad Ford had his latest mock draft up and rolling already as soon as the lottery was finished last night.

The Cavaliers have two first round picks which Ford will analyze and I'm sure many FTS readers will have some strong opinions on who he has the team selecting.

With the Draft less than a month away this is a pretty rapid process.

Find out who Ford has the Cavaliers selecting after the jump.

4. Cleveland Cavaliers - Harrison Barnes, SF, North Carolina

Many people likely will debate between the Cavaliers selecting Barnes and Connecticut's center Andre Drummond I imagine. For now though, Ford has the Cavaliers leaning toward the former North Carolina standout sophomore.

24. Cleveland Cavaliers - Quincy Miller, SF, Baylor

The youngster from Baylor is a project and coming off an ACL injury.

Two small forwards would make no sense unless Miller is gonna be the SG

I feel you... When I read it, the first thing that came to mind was why in the hell would we draft 2 small forwards AND we have Gee. Unless we don't plan on re-signing him.

Lots of talk already about a potential Bobcats/Cavs trade.

#2 for #4, #24, and (maybe) #32.

Good stuff.
unfortunately all that "talk" is random conjecture with no actual confirmed interest whatsoever from the bobcats side.

If MKG is still on the board at 4 and we don't take him, I think I would explode in anger.

After Davis, I really hope we end up with either Beal or Drummond.

Barnes is what he is and doesn't seem to have a much higher ceiling than what we've seen.

MKG is a nice hustle player but can't seem to find a highlight of him hitting a jumpshot ten feet or farther from the rim.

We have Thomas Robinson on our roster at number four already.

Beal has unlimited range and would create a devastating backcourt combo with Kyrie.

Drummond and we have our center going forward as well as maximizing Varejao trade potential in the future.

Everyone else is a reach.

BEAL OR DRUMMOND BABY!

If Drummond and Robinson go 2-3, leaving the Cavs with the chance to take MKG, I will be ecstatic. ECSTATIC

Has anybody seen the 2011 Nike Hoops summit featuring Kyrie and Barnes vs Enes Kanter and the world team?

It would really change some of your opinions of a Harrison Barnes/ Kyrie Irving combo.

These two can ball together. Barnes was truly much, much better when playing with a great PG. I know this sounds absurd but Barnes was looking like Durant lite out there on the court with Irving.

They'd definitely be really good together. I'd definitely prefer MKG's toughness and grit in the playoffs, but Harrison Barnes is a pretty damn good consolation prize.

I still would take Beal over HB, but something is telling me Washington might nab Beal. Lets hope MJ selects T-Rob, that would be a dream scenario as we'd either get Beal or Kidd Gilchrist.

What with their desperate season ticket offer, I get the feeling that the Bobcats are likely to gamble on Drummond becoming the Amar'e-like talent some have suggested he can be, or go for the all-hype Tar Heel. And if the Wiz are thinking frontcourt... I just think it's very likely MKG and/or Beal will be there at four.

Would you guys trade #4 and Andy to Portland for #6 and #11 plus a filler? Think about it... One of Beal Drummond Barnes Robinson or Lamb will be avaliable at #6. Then take Ross Waiters Moultrie Zeller or P Jones at #11. Then you still have the remaining 3 picks to trade back into the mid-late teens and get a Harkless White or T Jones type player.

That would jump start the rebuild with a BANG! Do it Ferry...errr Grant.

Wouldnt put too much stock in an all-star game, given the two seasons of college tape we already have on him. And don't use that excuse about playing with a great pg, since he spent the last 1.5 seasons playing with kendall marshall, the best passing pg in the country. It's no coincidence that his stats went up the moment marshall took the starting job and went crashing down the moment marshall broke his wrist. I know some disagree, and i like the different perspectives, but if we're picking at 4 i want a whole lot more than a guy who needs his pg to make him look good.

I wouldn't read too much into what teams are saying about other players. Last year Utah was locked into taking Brandon Knight according to many bc he filled a need and they had too many bigs. Didn't happen. We just gotta wait and see.

I doubt the Cavs have much interest in MKG anymore. Sounds like Davis and Beal were the 2 guys they wanted. I could see them take Barnes over MKG. Matter of fact, MKG may fall out of the top 5 all together.

Lamb will be the only person out of the guys you mentioned that will be there at 6.
