2014 NBA Off Season Moves For Other Teams Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Did the Pistons really just sign Caron Butler to 2/9m ?

SVG making the case for those teams that didn't want to hand him the keys to the castle. Butler is a min contract at best IMO.

Like the DJ signing by him, but this one is a head scratcher.

It means SVG can keep a vet on the floor at all times. the money is a price you pay to get a guy to come on in a mentor role as opposed to filling out a contender roster.

The Wizards setting themselves up for Durant to go him by signing Pierce for 2 years. If OKC doesn't get over the hump there in trouble. Wall/Beal/Gortat is a hell of a core to entice KD.

Gortat will be 32.

And why are we ignoring Russ and Serge?

Gonna echo Colin just because it needs to be said. Gortat is old and unfortunately for Washington Russell Westbrook is better than John Wall and Serge Ibaka is better than Brad Beal.

I believe the idea of going home will be entertained by Durant but he will ultimately stay in OKC. Russ and Serge are better than Gortat and Wall, although in Washington, Durant might be able to play in an actual offense and not have Russ/Durant iso ball all of the time. We'll see. Doubt it happens.

hard to have any idea what washington will look like in a few years. the only two guaranteed guys on that roster will be wall and gortat, taking up about $28 million in cap. Beal has a QO, but they will certainly extend him for a large chunk of change. that gortat contract will be an albatross in two years, let alone whatever other stiffs they inevitably will overpay for out of desperation.

I read an article a Miami Heat writer just did about Chalmers resigning with Miami. It stated if LBJ stayed, Chalmers was out because he completely checked out for this past postseason and especially the finals. If anything, James loved Rio and even expressed it in his essay. Sour grapes?

Ricky Rubio - G - Timberwolves

Ricky Rubio reportedly wants a five-year, max extension from the Timberwolves.

Now that Kevin Love seems to be on his way out of town, Rubio looks to be leveraging the fact that he will be the Timberwolves' lone superstar in his contract negotiations. David Kahn refused to offer the five-year "designated player" extension to Kevin Love as he was reportedly saving it for Rubio, but it will be interesting to see if that plan still exists no that Kahn is no longer employed by the Wolves.

The 23-year-old is coming off a season in which he averaged 9.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.6 assists, and 2.3 steals and is one of the better pure point guards to own in fantasy as long as his 38.1% shooting from the field can be offset elsewhere.

You should have to wash your mouth out with soap to use the words "Rubio" and "superstar" in the same sentence. My goodness.

Yeah, Rubio's agent is insane. I don't even know if Rubio is worth more than even 10 mil per year. Lowry just got 12 mil per year and Lowry is a much better player than Rubio.

Solid move for the Spurs, I know Pop just re-upped with them for multiple years and all his previous top assistants have been hired/are getting hired by other teams but this could be a legit move to get his successor in place should he retire. Messina is relatively young at 54 and has been one of the top Euro coaches coveted by a lot of NBA teams.

Dirk has basically always professed his love for the Mavericks organization, no? Still, people used to take less money to sign WITH the Lakers. $12 mil is a pretty big chunk of change, to just say, "Thanks, but no thanks, Fellas..."
