2014 NBA Off Season Moves For Other Teams Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I agree. I believe it is 2 years, $2M. $1M per year.

Very cheap. I thought he was asking for around $4-5M.

Even more upsetting then. Why bother with James Jones when we could've had Ed Davis thus solidifying our frontline and thereby being able to hold out for Love without giving up Wiggins...

Dammit.

Why the hell are the Wiztards hiring KD's highschool coach?

I understand he might have grown up there, but it's not like they drafted him and he's had a big impact in the area???? Do they think he'll pull a Lebron? Completely different circumstances. This dude is a highschool coach, seriously wtf

Boozer was picked up off of waivers by the Lakers....

Lakers had to get someone, anyone to fill the whole Pau Gasol has left. They overpaid Jordan Hill way too much as well

Maybe he is a really good coach. Maybe Durant put it in the good word for him. Not unheard of for people to get jobs through connections. Look at Lebron's 4 Horsemen.

Is Ariza that much of a downgrade for the Rockets, compared with Carmelo? One might say that the Rockets still did pretty well for themselves this offseason. Carmelo just about disrupts, as much as he helps.

I was enjoying it till I saw this.

Lakers Pencil In Carlos Boozer As Starting Small Forward
Jul 26, 2014 1:32 AM EDT

Carlos Boozer was introduced by the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

The Lakers were not optimistic about landing Boozer during the waiver claim process but did so with a $3.25 million bid.

Boozer heard the news from his agent.

"I was ecstatic and I was jumping up and down," Boozer said. "I went back out there and got two more hours in."

Boozer is penciled in as the Lakers' starting small forward, although he has played power forward throughout his 12-year NBA career.

Boozer said he believes he could play up to seven more seasons.

C- Ed Davis
PF- Jordan Hill/Julius Randle
SF- Carlos Boozer
SG- Kobe Bryant/Nick Young
PG- Jeremy Lin/Steve Nash

Such a random team...why the hell is Boozer playing SF?

Because the Lakers have somehow become the absolute worst and dumbest franchise in professional sports in the matter of a few years.

Just wanna say I love what Charlotte has done this entire off-season (sans overpaying for a flat out bad basketball player, Marvin Williams). Loved the Vonleh pick and the decision to let McRoberts walk with Zeller and Vonleh on the roster. Everyone knows how I feel about Lance Stephenson.

It all depends on well guys develop but if they can get any improvement at all out of MKG and Zeller, they could potentially push for 50 wins. Their defense will be really, really good.

Has Boozer ever played small forward in his LIFE?

How is Boozer going to guard opposing small forward, when he is so old, he practically walks with a CANE?

Especially as they only have ed Davis at the 5 spot. It's not like they can't play his slow roided ass there.

Agreed with everything you have said. I think they have a pretty solid 1-2 punch with Walker and Jefferson. The loss of McRoberts won't hurt them in the slightest. There is a lot of young, untapped potential, especially at the 4 and 5. Not only did they draft Vonleh, whose game I love, but they still have Biyombo and Zeller on the roster and I could see both players developing into reliable rotational big men in the coming seasons. They definitely need MKG to step up, but he has other wing players there he will have to battle for playing time in Hairston and Stephenson. Stephenson is going to play 30+ minutes a night and Hairston should see his fair share of time on the floor as well.

I could see them making a Wizards-like jump this year. I could honestly see them finishing ahead of teams like Miami and Brooklyn if they develop how I think they will.

Williams got overpaid, but I don't think he's bad. He's about a league average player. He's a decent three point shooter and can play defense. Obviously he never lived up to the potential of where he was drafted, but he's a solid role-player.
