I mean I want Lindor extended as anyone else, but we did sign a top starter in Carrasco to an extension earlier in the offseason. That guy could make so much more money on the open market.

Lotta guaranteed money to throw to a guy who was under contract for 2 more seasons and would have been 32.5 when he hit UFA

Comparatively, the Indians extended Carrasco by 3 yrs/$38m (2 yrs/$25m if not vested) a few months before his 32nd birthday.

To be fair, the Indians have extended guys.

Just not Lindor. Because Lindor didn't want to eat into his highest earning years. J-Ram and Kluber were happy to take those long term deals. And in Kluber's case, he basically destroyed any chance of him ever making top dollar.

Why is Eric Stamets in that bigleagues, let alone starting over Moroff or Chang? Did Tito fall off his scooter? Is sportscoach his handle here?

Stamets had a bad year last year cause of injuries, but he was solid the year before. He has always been a very good defensive SS, probably top 15 in all of baseball that way, just has never figured out how to hit at a consistent basis. Also I don't understand why Chang is not up over Miller at the end of the day. For once you actually cannot blame me since i don't agree with things myself! Now I can tell you why he is starting over Moroff, mostly because Francona wants Moroff in his permanent role for the ball club.
