A closer look at Bradley Beal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, Wade has an awful jumpshot. It's kind of remarkable that he's as good as he is despite having no range whatsoever.

if Rivers truly is the best ball handler and slasher available, then yeah I would always pick the best ball handler first and worry about shooting later. Rivers' height still worries me, but it looks like most of the SG's available are undersized (6'3" - 6'4"). It doesn't look like there are any 6'6" - 6'7" SG's out there this year.

Yep. Thats why I said only if he is at least 6'4 that I would dare touch him with our first pick. It seems like the days of 6'6 or taller SG are becoming rare.

Terrence Ross is 6'6" or 6'7"

Well let me take that back. Wade isnt a good shooter lol but you get the point

Wade isn't a goot shooter? i thought Wade had a pretty good jumpshot.

am I mistaken? i don't watch Miami much.

In 06 and 09 Wade was money on the mid range jumpers. Him being the entitled douche he is probably didnt put in the time of really elevating his skills. Too busy throwing sex parties and complaining to the refs.

But Wade is a very skilled ballhandler and slasher and he is also only 6'4. But he is built sold and is a good playmaker also

Beal looked fine to me handling the ball against Marquette. I was actually impressed with his first step. Unlike a guy like Barnes, looked like Beal could turn on the jets right away. Guys with great first steps don't have to have an Irving like dribble. That being said his handle looks a lot better a lot of guys on our current team (doesn't say much but still you get the point)

well if that is true, then that proves ball handling is definitely more important than shooting...because Wade is still considered one of the top 5 players in the entire NBA. I don't think anyone would take an outside shooter over a player like Wade.

ok, stop the insanity.

Wade is a great mid range shooter. Important lost skill. Not a great 3 point set shooter.

Beal is the most complete sg in this draft. There really isnt a close 2nd, but other sg's do things well.

If all you want is a sg with great handles, then wooten is the best in this draft. I am hoping he drops to our laker's pick, but that is starting to seem unlikely.

I dont necessarily care about them having great handles as much as I care about them being able to create their own shot and occasionally for others

thanks for clearing that up...i thought Wade has always had a good jump shot. these guys were making think i was crazy.

How does Beal compare to a guy like Austin Rivers? Rivers seems pretty well-rounded - a great ball handler and a very good shooter as well.

By what measure is Wade a great mid-range shooter? He's average at best. He hovers below 40% outside of 10 feet, inside the three point line. Dirk, Kobe, and Ray Allen are great mid-range shooters. Wade is not in their league.

(and it's Wroten, not Wooten)

Reading this thread makes me wish we would have been able to grab Alec Burks to go with Irving and Thompson.

The only thing Wade is elite at is bulldozing into the lane and getting bailed out by the refs.

Since a lot of people were talking about Austin Rivers and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, here's some draft news:

Rivers will declare for the NBA draft and will sign with an agent - per CBSSports
MKG will declare for the NBA draft once Kentucky's season is over - per Chad Ford
FYI - Ford has MKG projected going #2 on his big board.
Also, Jay Williams tweeted that multiple sources told him that Rivers is a top 20 NBA draft pick.
