I just lol at people thinking Wiggins is a '2'. I can't wait for his frame to fill out.

I really see the front office risking a massive trade to send Dion, TT, and a shit ton of picks to MN for Love in the hopes a lineup of Kyrie Wiggins ?? Love Varajao wins enough to convince him to stay. All of this is regardless of what LBJ does.

I know I am in a minority here but the whole trade anything and everything other than Kyrie and Wiggins for Love and potentially LeBron just doesn't excite me.

If LeBron comes back so be it. He's originally from around here so it would make a good story and I could get behind that.

Love on the other hand, I'm just not a huge fan of. He's a good player aside from being injury prone and playing no defense but I don't know... the way he has been so open about wanting out of Minnesota and constantly hinting at teams he wants to go to just rubs me the wrong way.

I realize there may be little logic in my reasoning if you look at it from purely a basketball perspective but to me, a big part of being a fan of a team is being able to get behind its players and you know... actually like them.

I don't want to root for LeBron, Kyrie, and the other guys just here to win a free championship. I want our players to actually want to be here and be invested into the organization. Sure winning is important but it's not everything for me.

Guys like Waiters never do, and never should start over guys like Wiggins. If the team feels like Wiggins is a SG and should start there, then by all means that's what they should do.

Waiting for someone to say we can't trade Dion because he's the heart and soul of this team

Well part of it may have to do with what our GM just said about him. Whether it's this year or down the road, Griffin thinks Wiggins may be a 2

I think that was GM speak. The farther we go down that road, the farther Wiggins moves away from the "2".

Your obnoxious level since Embiid got hurt has become unbearable. Can you talk about a player's weaknesses w/o going all the way to the most extreme.

I'm not Wiggins biggest fan but good lord.

It's pretty bad when Rich is getting annoyed with someone being too pessimistic. :chuckles: Since we are in the Dion thread, I'm going to miss him if he's traded. He is (was?) my favorite Cav. The guy had passion but he did pout way too much. I thought a new coach would do him and Kyrie wonders.

Yeah, Wiggins doesn't look like a SG now or in the future to me either but Griffin is the GM and to come out and and say what he did makes me think he has his mind made up about the composition of our team. Either Dion agrees to a long-term role off the bench or he's moved.

I think the latter is more realistic. Sucks too...he's gonna break out really soon.

It's not about being pessimistic. It's being extreme.

On the one hand, I'm pretty sure he thinks Dion is the 2nd best SG in the league.

On the other hand, Embiid is going to be next Olujawon and the fact we didn't take him means we'll never be good at anything.

Sucks Dion is likely gonna get moved now. Definitely gonna have a secondary team to root for so I can follow his career, I believe he's gonna a stud as soon as this season IMO. I'll also always put him back on the Cavs in 2k :chuckles:

But when Griff said Wiggins could be a 2 as he develops , kinda sound like Dion will be gone in a few years :(

If we do trade Dion, I'd sure hope it would be later rather than sooner. His value will skyrocket after this season, IMO.

I will quote Griffin directly here: "as his game evolves he may play more 2 on the offensive side than he will initially".

Some of you guys took this as "Dion Waiters is now redundant and we will trade him".... wow.

Personally I think what he meant was that Wiggins can play SG and SF right now, he certainly will defend both positions from the get go (probably in certain lineups that see little time) but he needs to improve to be able to play as a good shooting guard. I think his handles and 3pt shot are not there yet.
