Unless you get blown away, I think talk of trading Dion is a mistake. I'm not calling him an All-Star like some,
but how about we get a bigger sample size to see how he develops ? I think he's shown enough progress that's
we can likely expect it to continue in his third season. I don't buy the bullshit that he can't play with Irving. Everyone
gets pissed at some point after so many losses. He's saying all the right things. I think he deserves at least another
season to see how he improves. I see no reason he can't be a big part of this team improving this season, along with
the number 1 pick.

Some that's Everyone another along with the #1 pick. I do not know why that was the first thing I read.

I would rather not trade him as well, but he definitely is our #1 trade chip whether we like it or not. TT sucks and can only rebound, AB has shown nothing so far, and Kyrie is too good & too young to be traded.

I love the progress he has shown over the last two years and he definitely looked like he was breaking out after the all star game last season. I would like to see Wiggins drafted and working off of Kyrie & Dion because that could be the deadliest young trio the league has seen in a while.

In Simmons and Jalen's latest podcast, Simmons tried saying we should have taken Oladipo last year. Jalen asked him if he thought Oladipo was a better player than Dion. Asked him, if we went out tomorrow, shirts vs. skins, who do you want on your team? Simmons after some thought said he would take Oladipo, but he would be more afraid of playing against Dion. Jalen wanted Dion.

Simmons also said the best two guards were Harden, Klay, and Beal. No mention of Waiters who has almost identical stats to Beal but with a higher FG percentage. I wish Waiters got more respect around the league. I love the guy and hope we don't trade him next week.

Beal opened some eyes in the Playoffs where he largely performed extremely well. I believe that the Playoffs are truly where perceptions are altered one way or the other. If we could get some exposure in the Playoffs I feel that Waiters is a guy likely to thrive off of the pressure.

That's why I wanted to make the playoffs so bad last year. His game and attitude will make him a playoff monster.

What 2 guard do we get that is better than Dion? Trade value he has, but who do you replace him with? Any hole we create we will need to fill, just remember the terrible lack of sf or true sg when LBJ was here.

Yeah, but you can also garner some unrealistic expectations when a player performs well for one playoff series. See Exhibit A: Harrison Barnes. Had an awesome playoff series, then could barely even earn minutes this year.

Good point and I don't really understand what happened to him but Waiters is not going to fade into the distance. He's too alpha for that.

Yeah I don't think he will either. I was referring more to Beal. Everyone has him above Waiters now because of one good playoff series, and I was just pointing out that those can be a mirage.

I think this shows. Dion is much more productive as a starter than coming off the bench.. also he made very measurable strides as the season were on. A decent post player will certainly help improve his drive conversions and Blatts offense should allow him to see more catch and shoot opportunities.

I dunno, the numbers seem fairly average to me...

I think Dion Waiters' trade value is probably worth more than a 20th pick in the draft given enough time to find a deal and a willingness to take back salary. However, if the Cavs want to trade Dion as part of a salary dump to clear space for free agents, and they need to do it before the free agency period gets too far along, then they would have a really hard time getting a better return than an a pick in the mid 20's for him.

lets not repeats the ron harper mistake with Dion.

I also think Wiggins will be hard pressed to beat out Waiters for the 2 guard position.

I was all excited about a Irving-Waiters-Wiggins line-up but now we're told Wiggins is a two guard. :(
