Re: Rating Coach Scott

I voted as good as can be expected. It's not his fault that this team is not a title contender this year. He's doing what is needed for our (hopefully) all star backcourt to develop together, and get us into a position where we can add a 3rd core piece to the roster. If we are still in the lotto next year then I think it is time to fire him, unless there are major injuries of course.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Tonight is another perfect example. Waiters getting 25 fucking minutes. I cannot handle much more of this.

But in the end, the lack of depth on this team has lost us all but 1 game this year. Absolutely must be the worst bench in the league. Holy god.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Even if Dion's thigh acted up, it may not have happened if he was sitting on his fucking ass for an hour.

Regardless, you cannot put your starters back in with only 5 minutes left in the 4th Quarter. Beyond laughable game management.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

He's hurt.

Thank you. People need to chill the heck out sometimes, bitching & moaning without knowing any of what's going on.

That said - this bench. My god, this bench. :chuckles:

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Post game they asked why Waiters didn't return. If it was Boobie playing well or something about Dion and Scott replied "both". He also said Dion's leg was fine when questioned about that.

We've had a bad bench forever. I know he wasn't put in today, but I would definitely like to see Waiters out there when Kyrie is sitting for the first few minutes of the 2nd and the 4th. Then maybe take him out for 3 minutes and bring him back at about the 6 or 5 minute mark as a regular rotation. That way we don't really have to see Sloan all that much. I've also been pretty impressed by Boobie's play. Was bad mouthing him all last season because I thought the injury was BS, but it looks like it was either a huge factor in his bad shooting, or he practised like crazy this offseason. Other than Andy and sometimes Tristan, we have a god awful front court though.

And the original reason for posting in this thread, coach is doing as good as can be expected.

Slowly but surely, the tides are shifting, and soon we will see the quiet minority become the loud majority. Byron Scott; your days as head coach of the storied Cleveland Cavaliers are numbered.

My fucking god. Infuriating.

Maybe. I'm not a huge fan of the coaching staff, but this team isn't designed to win. There's a reason our big signings were Miles and Leuer. It's about developing our youth. Byron is a good motivational guy...he's ideal for Kyrie, Dion, Tyler, Tristan and Gee.
We have a boatload of picks. An arsenal of cap space. Sucks to hear it, but this is another rebuild year...it's the truth. Two more high picks this summer, let other teams overpay again for FA's, let the punitive aspect of the luxury tax kick in and it's go time. In two years, we are a top 7 team if the plan comes together. Byron may not be part of it at that point...the front office knows what they are doing.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Wasn't an injury issue according to Scott. If so, that's disappointing. Maybe make your point when you're not in a competetive game against one of the best teams in the league. Would've been a good learning experience tonight.

^ This.

I mean, you guys are watching these games right? You see this roster on the floor? My God, our two best players are barely old enough to drink, and the rest is a mess. We might have the worst bench in NBA history.

Time to quit looking at the standings and start looking for improvement from these guys, period.

This bench isn't as bad as everyone thinks. They are just unmotivated. Guess who gets the blame for that? Byron Scott. Byron Scott has his guys, and he plays them through hell or high water. Doesn't sub them out when he takes a timeout, doesn't change the starting rotations, doesn't bring the proper people in off the bench.

Jesus christ, is it really this hard to get winners in this town? I have asked time and time again. We just hire perpetual losers because maybe it's their time. NO. It is never their time. Losers will remain losers.

I think I speak for everyone when I say this, shut the hell up.

Between the three coaches in this town, the combined amount of titles as a coach is 2. Unacceptable.
