Re: Rating Coach Scott

Yeah sorry I'm not buying into this motivational, trying to get the best out of his players by sticking them in the doghouse bullshit.

Putting aside Dion and how pissed he must be, how the fuck do you sell this to a superstar like Kyrie? Oh hey buddy, your sidekick and only other above average offensive threat is gonna sit the bench because he took a play off on defense. Sorry. For the development of him and the team.

Or Varejao? A guy who has seen the ups and downs of this organization. A player that plays his ASS off EVERY game to win. You're gonna tell him that sticking Dion in the doghouse is beneficial to the team?

Sorry I just cannot agree with that at all. Players play to win.

We don't really have all the information here and it's unfair to assume as much as I probably just did and I'm sorry but damn man, I see a team here who is pretty capable despite having the worst depth in the league. Our starters have been matching the starters of the opponent at the very least for the most part. Shit we should really only have 1 or maybe 2 losses at the most. But we have 5.

Like I said before tonight's game, I'm not saying Scott should be fired or anything. But man, once this team has real expectations, this shit should absolutely not be allowed.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Is your homework finished?

I have done my homework. It is time for everyone here to do their homework and realize that it's time for winners.

WINNERS NOT LOSERS
WINNERS NOT LOSERS
WINNERS NOT LOSERS

Re: Rating Coach Scott

As much as I like Byron Scott and think this team is just too awful to decide his career with the Cavs, Brian Shaw is still out there. Not trying to start a topic of coaches available but I really have a hard time figuring out why he is not a head coach of a team yet.

To this day I cry at the thought of just how much better we would be if Tom Izzo accepted the offer and became the coach. We would have made the playoffs last season.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

This bench isn't as bad as everyone thinks. They are just unmotivated. Guess who gets the blame for that? Byron Scott. Byron Scott has his guys, and he plays them through hell or high water. Doesn't sub them out when he takes a timeout, doesn't change the starting rotations, doesn't bring the proper people in off the bench.

Jesus christ, is it really this hard to get winners in this town? I have asked time and time again. We just hire perpetual losers because maybe it's their time. NO. It is never their time. Losers will remain losers.

Have you seen our bench? It really is that bad.

Umm, wow... Might be time to take the dog for a walk bro.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Scott isn't the best coach in the league and does have his issues but now he is not at all the problem with the Cavs. This is what a major building job looks like. Especially one being done as slowly and patiently as the Cavs are doing it.
That being said and as I've written before, this must be the last season of trotting out a pathetic bench that provides little to no depth and is filled with players barely suited or in some cases not suited to being on an NBA roster. We don't need huge signings but there are and have been opportunities to add some proven or more talented players at a reasonable price that would bring an upgrade. I'm all for the patient approach but it doesn't have to include continuing to have D Leaguers and rejects filling up the roster.

This is a common misconception. The bench is bad because the wrong players are on it. For instance, Dion should be coming in off the bench with the second unit. Maybe even AV too. Throw Zeller in the starting line-ups. Give him time to grow.

That makes our bench better, but it also makes our starting line-up shittier. That's a zero sum game.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Scott doesn't even have to bring Waiters or Varejao off the bench. He can take Waiters and a front court starter out with 6 minutes in the first quarter, keep Kyrie in the entire 1st quarter like he usually does and then bring back Waiters and Varejao/Thompson to start the 2nd quarter. Kyrie can carry an inferior unit, while the 2nd unit is strengthened.

THERE YOU GO! See? So, what is the solution? Play the starters for 30 minutes each. Maybe 35.

Re: Rating Coach Scott

Wait a year or two until Chris Grant fills out the bench?

I cry myself to sleep at night at that thought. We simply can't wait that long. Kyrie will not wait that long.
