The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
People will see he has a target he wants to kill, and you will find out who that is. There’s also that moment [in “Hardhome”] when Jon Snow was on the boat and the Night King looked at him and raised his arms — there’s a similar and even stronger moment between Jon and the Night King this time.

---Furdik, the guy who plays the Night King

Woooooooooooo boy. Guesses? Bran, Big Tits McGee. That's about all I got for characters we've seen and know.

Perhaps Jon except....he could have killed Jon rather easily at the Lake. Now, this could just be bad writing, but assuming it isn't, I don't think Jon is the answer.

Bran seems too obvious. They've already tried to kill Bran several times.

I think it will be someone we aren't expecting.

There is a moment in the trailer when Arya is fighting on the wall with a spear. She slashes an enemy and you see a large spurt of blood.

Pretty sure wights don't bleed, and Others shatter when they are killed.

Hence why I think the Battle of Winterfell will start out as Starks and Lannisters, although with Jaime fighting for the Starks.

I thought about this but, I mean, if someone dies and then is immediately turned, wouldn't they still splatter blood? Or at least it makes sense for them too. Blood would still be in the undead body, I'd think? I dunno.

To be honest, no idea how it would work. Blood would stop flowing the second the heart stops, but not sure how that would impact getting cut with a weapon.

It was just a detail I noticed that I think could be significant.

But think of what would happen if Euron marched North to Winterfell, there's a massive battle, and then the Night King shows up and raises all the people who just died in the battle. Seems like the type of moment that would line up with what you posted above.

Just had a thought.

Jon is technically dead, yes? So is it possible that the Night King could take control of him at a key moment? We haven't seen this happen yet, but maybe the moment the guy was referring to is when the Night King steals Jon's soul and makes him a servant to the Others?

Thing is we see in one clip Euron and Harry in the Throne room.

Even for the new teleportation standards theres no way they should be able to sail BACK to Kings Landing and then March all the way to Winterfell, right? Unless the Army of the dead takes a few detours or they send only some of their force.

But you definitely do see blood splatter.

Could it just be blood from a soldier getting killed by a Wight?

Also remember...they edit these damn trailers to fool people. Just flat take shit out. Wouldnt be surprised at them adding stuff too.

Another thing is you see a couple of guys climbing over the wall I think and they seem like they're wearing similar armor. The army of the dead tends to be pretty mismatched when it comes to armor.

Of course, it could simply be recently turned soldiers from Jon's army.

Also, I assume the Golden Company arrives in King's Landing to be presented to Cercei in episode one. I don't think it would be ridiculous in a potentially feature length episode two for them to travel to Winterfell. The previous season pulled shit like that all the time. Euron could sail them to White Harbor to save time and march from there. It's probably been abandoned by now anyway as everyone converges on Winterfell.

And I mean, we're going to see Melisandre go to Asshai and back to Westeros in the course of six episodes as well. Might as well just throw travel times out the window at this point and just assume an appropriate amount of time is passing.

Well she's going to Volantis and as far as we know she left in episode 2. So that's not a major leap.

I have been thinking this for awhile, but that isn't the only time he escaped. He fell in the water when the Dragons came and he still got out with the help of BenJen. It didn't take that much help.

Melisandra brought him back, so if he was a pawn of the Night King it just plays into your idea her God is just an extension of the Night King, who likely can influence people's thought if he wants like Bran did.

It might just be bad writing, but it seems like the advice the good guys get regarding how to prepare for the Long Night pretty consistently benefits the Others more than anyone.

Who is the commander of the Golden Company in the books?

On the show, I presume the Second Sons were already used...were they Stannis' mercenaries that deserted after the BBQ?

I think an old face will pop-up with the Golden Company. As a surprise.

Suspects:

The Blackfish
Stannis the Mannis
Syrio Farel
Ser Pounce the Great

Same guy as on the show. Harry Strickland.

I assume on the show he'll be a composite character taking elements from Strickland in the books and Jon Connington. Based on the brief shot we get of him in the trailer, he certainly looks more like Connington.

Is your old face Dany's previous lover? Because that would make sense.

Side note...the scene where Arya duels Brienne is probably my favorite from the entire series thus far. So good.

I love how quickly it goes from Brienne humoring this ninety pound girl who wants to play at swords to Brienne trying to cut her the fuck in half.

I dunno I assume its the blonde haired dude and is gonna be Harry Strickland, like in the books. But maybe not. Either way, I don't think we've seen that character before if they use someone else.

Dario guy?

Would not be surprised if he did show up at some point.

And then he and JonSnuh have a dong off.
