Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fuck this guy. I'll boo him next year if this is his stance. Clearly, being a winner means nothing to him.

Does he really need 5 jet skis instead of 3? And bro, you aren't that good. Take what you can get. This is the highest his stock will ever be.

Unless we lock him up for a long time at an...ok...price, I hope Tristan's career flames out and he's miserable. This shit is absurd.

In any other line of work, a mediocre employee with this attitude would be shown the door.

I understand your point, but flip it on it's head. Does DG really need 100 jet skis instead of 10? These guys should meet in the middle.

Let's not forget the LeBron factor. Guy signs a contract for 2 years with a player option for his 2nd and then his liaison sticks a 94 million contract demand up Gilberts ass.

That's fucked up any way you slice it.
No, it's called enacting the leverage you have when you're the best player in the game. I'm glad that you find a billionaire to be a victim though.

And to think we didn't want to deal with the drama associated with Fegan and thus passed on Jonas.

Instead, we get max contract Tristan and "the man responsible for bringing LeBron back" aka The only one in LBJ's crew that took a marketing 101 class.

from the tweet, i get the feeling that there isnt any budging on the cavs side and that theyre being forced to take the QO.

dude didnt say '16 mil a year or were out', he said 'if we sign the qo, were out.'

My question is what are we really at? Did we really offer 5/80 vs their demand of 5/94? Or are we more at 5/70 and that's why we're seeing the scorched earth tactics today? Because if we're really only talking around 10-15M difference over the life of a contract this is some crazy shit.

For comparisons' sake, Phoenix was at 4/48 for Bledsoe vs the 5/70 he ended up getting (the max would have been a little over 5/90). Clearly both sides gave up ground in the negotiations, and I just don't understand how a similar situation can't be arrived at with us, especially given the fact that unless the reports have been wrong we already upped our number a ton (we originally offered 4/52 last october, iirc).

I think some of this is posturing by Rich Paul based on draft position.

Draymond was a 2nd rounder. Reggie Jackson was picked in the late 20s.

When those deals got done, I think Paul felt he had to get more than them for Tristan based on his draft position. It shouldn't matter but to Rich Paul and his agency, it might matter very much in their recruiting wars with other agents.

Tristan will stand by for another 4-6 weeks and let his agent do the work, but I still think in the end, if Rich Paul and the Cavs FO can't get it done, the Tristan(with an assist from wise words of advice from his parents) will tell Rich he's got to get it done and that the QO is not an option.

This whole saga is confusing, how much $$$ is TT trying to command? Asking out of ignorance.

A guy that is really good at rebounding seems insulted by an $80 million dollar offer. Glad Lebron came back but crap like this annoys me a lot. TT isn't worth even $80 million but since he is with Lebron and his agency he wants max or threatens to leave which probably is implying Lebron could do the same.

im gonna repeat it, apparently we're at whatever the QO is, because RIch Paul felt it necessary to tweet that 'if were forced to sign this shit, were gone'.

perception is everything folks. Maybe its not on Paul this time

See what loyalty gets you?

Bent over.

94m or else bro... loyalty.
Since when is it the obligation of a player and/or his agent to be loyal to an organization?

As if Thompson is the reason we are in position to make multiple championship runs.
You're trolling right? If you think that that was what I was implying, you're not very intelligent. Fuck outta here. TT is the insurance policy for Love. He has proven that he can step in and play C/PF at a high level. Odds are that Kevin will not be healthy for the entirety of his contract. TT can take away some minutes from Kevin to reduce wear and tear on his body during the regular season and to start in case Love or Moz goes down.
