Amazing the number of posters wanting to write off a proven veteran like Mike Miller. We saw a sample of what he can bring the team tonight.

I just wanted him to play more. Veterans like him take longer to get going.

He shot 46% on threes last year for a very good playoff team. He's one of the greatest shooters of all time--he's not going to forget how to.shoot in one off season.

In this game, he also defended, got boards, and made some nice passes. He was a defensive liability for MEM last year so we know there are limitations but put in the right places, he can help us.

Your 2nd paragraph nailed it. You figured he would hit shots eventually, but the fact he was able to play decent defense and help us in the floor game is a GREAT sign.

That was always Mike Millers game but good to see he still has it in the tank.

Is it just me, or is it painfully obvious that the lineup at the end of the game was basically the audition for the new starting lineup.

Can't imagine it will be much longer before we we the starting lineup with Bron, KI, Love, TT and Miller. Makes the most sense.

That's exactly the lineup I want. Play LBJ as the primary ball handler and Kyrie off ball (doesn't mean he can't take guys off the dribble though). Miller out there on the wing. TT and Love in the post. That gives us Marion and Andy to provide scoring off the bench (and Dion if he ever gets his ish together). Delly controls our second unit. And then either Harris or Jones would be out there, as well. Maybe try out JJ due to Harris' poor play as of late.

It's inevitable provided they are all healthy...

I don't necessarily agree with that idea. I don't like the thought of putting all offense in the starting lineup. The unit we have going is starting to get some good chemistry and is stepping up defensively.

The unit we have is providing to be a crutch for Lebron and Kyrie and we are winning in spite of it.

By far the best game of this streak came against Indiana, because Andy was out and it forced Bron and Kyrie to look for Love. And they did. And it was everything we hoped it would be. Bron and Kyrie rely way too much on their familiarity with Andy.

Also I wouldn't exactly call bringing in Tristan "putting all your offense in the starting lineup".

Marion shouldn't be our starting two guard. He's a stopgap, and should really be backing up Lebron off the bench. Miller is no slouch defensively, and his game is tailor-made for what we need from our starting 2 guard... spot up shooting. Marion's a slasher who occasionally hits a three pointer.

And finally, I'd say yesterday's 4th quarter showed that the Bron-Kyrie-Miller-Love-TT lineup works beautifully. Let those five start. Sub out Kyrie, Love, and Tristan at the 3 min mark, and let Bron finish the quarter with Andy, Dion, Delly and one more shooter. Then let Love and Kyrie come back in at the start of the 2nd/4th with Andy, Dion, and another shooter. Then get the whole gang back together around the 7 min mark.

I say you gotta start Andy with LeBron because without Bron Andys effectiveness will drop. With Lebron he's a threat for 20. If he plays without Lebron he can still score but he's not nearly as scary

I agree that the five that finished look like they should be the starters going forward.

However, no matter what the starting lineup is, we need the 2nd unit to step up. I think it is simplistic to say that this is on Dion's shoulders, but at a certain level I feel that he needs to start scoring more for the bench to succeed. Even shifting Andy and Marion to the bench, we still need a someone who can come in and create his own shot. I don't know why Dion is struggling so much, and it is starting to get worrisome for me. I have liked him as a player for a while, and I honestly expected him to do well on this team as a 6th man or starter, but right now it's not happening. I'm hoping the return of Dellavedova might help Dion out.

Not quite sure why you'd say that. Some of Andy's best years were off the bench, and in fact, his breakout year over the last few was the year we drafted Kyrie. No Lebron anywhere. If Andy hadn't gotten hurt that year, he was a serious candidate for a coaches' vote into the All Star game.

Not only will Andy be fine with or without Lebron on the floor, his scrappiness and ability to make something out of nothing is sorely missed in that second unit.
