Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They don't have any top tier talent beyond Berrios, but Odorizzi and Gibson are pretty solid; Odorizzi specifically has been great recently. Martin Perez is somehow striking people out for the first time in his career. Their rotation is by no means dominant outside of Berrios, but I think it is solid

They lack any depth to it so I expect it to eventually not keep up with Clevelands group down the stretch when it matters. Also Cleveland hitting wise has too much talent to be only at .219 overall and being in the middle of the pack in walks isnt this ball club in general.

Unless someone gets hurt, I'm not sure what that matters. They have an ace caliber guy, 2 guys who have been historically above average, and Martin Perez who would have a great case for "most improved", if that were a thing, because he's developed a lethal cutter. Now sure, he will probably come back down to earth some once there is more film on that pitch, but he's been great so far. Their only weak link is Pineda

Personally I thought there was a good chance Roberto Perez would answer favorably with every day at bats.

I just hope the rest of our offense continues to improve. I think if we are close, one big deal and one small deal could put us over the top. The offense is right there and wants to improve, lol.

If Luplow can contribute against lefties like he has been, that really helps out the OF. I think we will find one more bat regardless of position to help with this roster (but more than likely LF, 1st or DH is the prime target). Then also we probably will get another veteran bullpen arm in the mix.

I think we need an to find a stick at dh. I'd love to give Bobby Bradley at bats, but I'm sure we'll be able to swing for a vet at the deadline to fill that hole.

I'm OK with all the OF options we currently have. An upgrade would be nice, but I just want the best bat we can find. We have a slew of plus defenders in the OF.

Man, remember when there were talks about trading for Schwarber years ago? He'd look real nice right now.

Remember when we talked about acquiring:

Nick Senzel
Alex Verdugo
Austin Riley
Chris Paddack

Seems like perhaps they could have pulled that trigger on a Kluber deal for one of those folks.

All four look like All Stars.

Right now it looks like they should have, but thats slightly hindsight and the fact Kluber wasn't crisp before he got hurt. Verdugo would be nice in LF right now..

I think b00bie is trying to say that's a pipedream that was never on the table, like us trading for Schwarber which I brought up.

We could have gotten Verdego for Kluber, but I am not sure if they would have given us another top prospect with him. We didn't get a Sale offer for Kluber hence why we kept him. Dodgers really wanted Kluber, but not enough to spend 2 top prospects, a MLB guy and another decent prospect like we wanted.

If CarGo doesn't consistently hit here soon, I am okay with bringing up Bradley as our DH/1st base and seeing if he can do something before we make a move for a bat. I am sure a veteran bat would be nice, but if we can avoid trading for a guy like EE in a sense, I am sure the owner would prefer it (not saying he wouldn't but I know they want to avoid spending the extra if they can help it this season).

Neil Ramirez designated for assignment to make room for Plutko.

I figured it would happen soon since he just hasn't been all that good this season. We will try to keep him at AAA, but I could actually see a team like Baltimore picking him up since he is not that expensive and has MLB experience.

There have been a lot of frustrating/annoying things going on with the Indians since the 2018 ALDS started

Gio Urshela suddenly hitting .347 out of no where, for the Yankees of all teams, is incredibly annoying

And Bellinger looks like the the NL MVP, not that he was ever probably available for Kluber in a straight swap
