Game 24, Cavs v. LA Clippers; Wednesday, Feb 8th @ 7pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kinda OT but How good does that Tony Battie trade look, AV is a STUD and he was a throw in with Drew Gooden... crazy how trades cant be evaluated for several years

Looks like Orlando got bent over big time. I know Andy isn't a good fit next to Dwight, but him and Varejao would be an amazinf defensive tandem.

I think more people are calling this a "useless" win because when we win we like to see Irving and Thompson develop.

what about gee, samuels, eyenga even casspis developmet. those are key pieces to the cavs future eiether via trade pieces or wasted slots or valued players.

A power forward who has suspect defense, bad mid range game and no post moves should not be an all star over Love or LMA.

Only thing he does well is dunk, and thats just flash and glitter.

I don't wanna make this a stick up for Griffin thread, but he is another level above Aldridge when it comes to rebounding. And for whatever weaknesses his offensive game have, his FG% is higher than Aldridges.

I can understand wanting the Cavs to lose games, but deciding at this moment to criticize the Cavs for winning (without Irving/etc.) against a team that came in at 15-7 (admittedly, minus Billups) just reads like sour grapes.

What Byron and the non-Irvings managed tonight was quite impressive, even for fans who don't like the big picture. You should be happy the Cavs beat a Western Conference team that isn't in competition with them for a playoff spot or for lottery position. They need to lose to teams like the Bucks, Knicks, and Kings...all of whom are coming up. :chuckles:

I don't feel like starting a winning/losing argument -- other threads for that. Just thought it was funny to see so many posters complain about a surprising win by an undermanned team.

This was a deflated Clippers team. First game without Billups, and they looked lost. And their first game with Kenyon. The Cavs vets played well, and their familiarity with each other was key to scoring on a team that played so-so defense prior to Billups going down.

Hard to see this as a quality win. Clips have had a suspect bench all year. Tonight they went to it, and lost.

that we are a mediocre team on the route for the mediocrity treadmill for years to come?

with 9 guys under the age of 25. lol you dont even know where the cavs will pick or whether they make a move to trde higher or what they will do in the offseason.

You have a bunch of youngs guys playing like vets and your complaining about treadmills

I got a really bad feeling about this one....seriously. :chuckles:

Is there ANY CHANCE WHATSOEVER that Sessions can have a big showcase game? With our luck, I highly doubt it.

I'm unfuckinbelievable...i hope some of you are betting against me. :)

So anyway Stein saying coaches have already cast their all-star reserve ballots, so tonight's game isn't going to get Andy in.

This was a deflated Clippers team. First game without Billups

I'm sure that the Cavs team being told that Irving wasn't going to play tonight didn't deflate them at all. :chuckles:

I would agree with you if only Billups had been out. But both teams were down a rather important piece. Perhaps that's why the first half was so ugly.

My point was not that it was an amazing win, but the Cavs haven't been beating teams with winning records until recently, and certainly without Irving weren't expected to tonight.

A team with Blake Griffin and Chris Paul is not a deflated team.

That and Billups has been hot garbage this year. Worst season in years for that guy.

But, I guess no matter what he's better than Randy Foye.

I'm disappointed. Certainly not that we won, but in this forum.

Not only was that fun as hell to watch, but these guys playing good right now is helping our future just as much, if not more than fucking tanking for a pick or 2 higher next year. This is a win-win year for me. To quote a previous poster, this board seems to see it as a lose-lose. WTF?

Billups was shooting like 36% before he went out

I have never seen a website more divided than this one is right now. :chuckles:

That was a great game to watch. Not upset at all about the win.

Obviously Kyrie didn't play tonight, but how bad do people expect this team to be considering how good he already is? This is a star driven league, stars win games. Varejao isn't too shabby either.

Anyway, this game was flukey. Jamison and Sessions will never have games like this again.
