Potential destinations for Ramon Sessions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The best draft pick the Knicks could offer anytime soon is a 2014 second-rounder. They've traded their first round picks for years to come as part of previous trades. I don't see anyone on their roster who they're likely to trade and who the Cavs likely would want. Their interest in Sessions has likely cooled now, but I don't know if they could ever have come up with a deal for him even if they wanted to.

I would be interested in trading Sessions/2012 NOH 2nd for Shumpert/Fields. I might be inclined to throw in Harangody if NY needs an official towel waiver.

Can't see them doing either trade for any reason at all

We have a long way to go til the deadline, so dont believe it's Lakers or bust. I think a team we arent even considering, or maybe a couple of teams, are going to jump in on Sessions for their playoff run. In fact, Grant should be on the phone to every team in the league with even a hint of weakness at PG to see what they'd give us. Drive that price up...

That article is discussing weak points of certain teams and why the Knicks improved so much adding Lin. What it goes on to show is the Lakers and Magic are incredibly weak at PG and just getting an average PG would improve those two teams dramatically.

Quote from Hollinger:
Orlando ranks second(in Bad play, which is players below average that get minutes, Lakers are first), with horrid point guard play the main reason, although the Magic have at least begun to remedy a bit of the problem, by cutting Larry Hughes. In each case, this represents an opportunity too. If L.A. or Orlando could just acquire a league-average point guard at the trade deadline (coughRamonSessionscough), it might improve their chances considerably.

Hollinger is the one referencing Ramon, I did not add that.

I really like Ramon as a piece on this team long term (yes I know I am one of the few). But if we could get both picks from the Lakers I would be good with that (maybe add Parker to the deal also and one of our 2nds).

Lakers:
Sessions
Kobe
Parker
Gasol
Bynum

This improves them dramatically, AP can play SF and is a still a decent defender and a knockdown three point shooter. Hell we can throw in Hollins so they have a backup big in case of emergency.

But if we could get both picks from the Lakers I would be good with that

Really? You'd be comfortable with 2 first round picks for Sessions? You sure you dont want more? :chuckles:

Dear EVERYONE:

Ramon Sessions will not get traded for 2 first rounds picks. So please stop suggesting the insane possibility that the Lakers would ever give us 2 firsts. It has no chance of happening...none.

So is this going to happen or what? What in the world is taking them so long?

But Max... Look at the grin on Chris Grant's face in your avatar. You know he's cooking something up right?

That said, why is this thread still in Cavs Talk if the mofo ain't getting traded? Ain't shit happening. Move this shit back.

Dear Reality,

Then I would not trade him. The odds of finding a better player than Ramon with the 25th pick in the draft are very very small. Even if he opts out the most the teams we are talking about needing him can offer is the mid-level. I would keep him for that price.

Also I was adding in a high 2nd round pick and Parker to the deal. The idea is Ramon is worth slighty more than a first to me, so give me the 2nd first and I give you back a pick that might be 10 picks or so later AND another useful piece.

Sessions has a player option for next year meaning he will opt out and get paid to play as a starter somewhere get paid to be a starter and play starter minutes. He isn't going to stick around and play second fidle for the hell of it. If he isn't traded he will opt out, hell he will probably opt out if he is traded. If you are even offered a first you take it, that would be like playing with house money.

paying the mid-level to a backup PG who gets at most 20min a game once Kyrie is ready? no thanks plus you might want to check out some of his interviews, he wants to start...as soon as a team like the Lakers offers him the starting spot and a solid contract he's gone

to me it's not even a question whether you trade him if somebody offers a 2012 first round pick (even if it's a late first rounder)...

on a side-note i also think Sessions has some attitude problems (i don't think it's coincidence that he looks a lot better once he starts...)
