Because I've seen zero evidence indicating it was a hate crime. My best guess at this moment is that Zimmerman had a "wannabe a cop" complex. He followed someone he thought was suspicous. That person somehow ended up on top of him and kicking his ass. Zimmerman was terrified and shot him....not because he was black...but because he was getting his ass handed to him and was scared. Not saying he was right. I'd love to see him do some time for manslaughter. But, I'm not 100% sure if he broke the law due to the idiocy of "stand your ground".

It will be nice when all the evidence is made public.

I don't think this has anything to do with race. This dude George Zimmerman actually rallied the Black community against a police officers son. No one in the community cared that a white police officers son beat a homeless man unconscious. George went to black churches and handed out flyers. They got the Chief of police fired and the kid to go to Jail. Funny that just a year later George would cause the next police Chief to be fired as well in totally opposite circumstances.

I know what I am about to say may anger you and that is not my intent. Please, if I fail to find the correct words to not anger you forgive me, that is not my intent in the least. That picture of Trayvon was posted on his youtube channel where he has videos of him refereeing fights between other students at school. His twitter was full of posts about how he punched a bus driver. His friends all posted on his twitter that even though he got shot they "know you whooped his ass before that."

They are painting this kid in the media like he was the next nobel peace prize winner. Is it not totally possible that he did follow Zimmerman back to his car? Ask him "What the fuck is your problem?" Punch him in the nose and break his nose? Then proceed to ground and pound the shit out of Zimmerman?

I posted that picture of him with gold fronts and middle fingers blazing because his parents, friends, and teachers are all saying he was not violent. Everything this kid posted online points to the exact opposite. When I was a kid I did stupid shit like this too. Sometimes I look back and think I am lucky to be alive in many instances. Had there been a stand your ground law in Ohio, perhaps I would have been scared shitless to fuck with someone else. That's the whole point of this law. Zimmerman I feel has every right to ask someone what they are doing if he doesn't recognize them in his gated community. If I was in your back yard you're telling me you wouldn't come out and ask me what I am doing? A city inspector was surveying my back yard last year. I had no idea who he was. I walked right out and asked him who are you and what are you doing here. People have a right to protect their homes, their communities and their neighbors. We don't need to live in some nanny state where we are helpless.

When you look at that picture of Treyvon you see fear of how he looks. When I see that picture I wonder how did he go from great looking child in all of the media photos to that. Did his parents not notice? Did they not notice when he stopped playing football. Stopped being interested in planes. What did they say when he was getting suspended from school? What about when he was moved to the magnet school for troubled teens. A last chance before prison. Did his father need to be out on a date that night and leave him alone. His own father said he went home and noticed he was gone. Didn't know where he was and turned his phone off for the night. My mom would have been roaming the streets until she found me. Then she would have beat my ass for doing something like that. Obviously his father was not going to find him. But his acknowledgement that he shut his phone off and went to bed I think is very telling.

Lastly, the issue here is not racism. It's poverty. I am sure Treyvon's Mom and Dad work their asses off to barely afford to be able to live. Its stressful and it's not a black thing. It's an everybody thing. I am sure just worrying about putting food on the table and having a home over their kids heads preoccupied them to where when these troubles began, it was probably just one more thing to deal with in a world and life with not enough hours in the day. Please don't tell me though that gold teeth, tattoos, fighting, smoking weed, and stealing are a cultural thing. People need to break free from supporting others being ignorant. It's not cool. If you see a redneck in a trailer with a rebel flag painted on the side I am sure you're not defending him in your head that that's his culture. Let's embrace all the amazing things our cultures have all done and try to out do those before us.

The original post from whoever the fuck tries to imply that there is some double-standard with regards to hate crime laws. I made the point that there isn't any double standard whatsoever, and that again, the most recent laws have been defined with regard to the Matthew Sheppard Case - a hate crime victim who was a White Male.

Yes.. it was White on White.. That's the point. :)

I understand the circumstances behind Sheppard and the hate crimes involved. But it is an irrelevant argument when talking about black on white hate crime. That is all I meant. I like you man, but on this you are wrong. A gay white guy beaten and killed is not the same as a white guy being killed by a black guy because of race. I'm not sure it even happens. Perhaps it has but it's never mentioned. But we are getting a first hand perspective on black on white hate crime in the media and the rallies about Zimmerman/ Martin.
