Morris Claiborne Vs. Trent Richardson: pick a side

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Walter football has Floyd falling to 18 if that's the case Heckert better jump up and grab him. Floyd and Trent would be an upper deck walk off grandslam. Grab Hill or Randle and suddenly we have one of the best young offensive cores in the NFL.

Floyd, Randle, Hill in that order if they're taking one at 22.

If Cordy Glenn is there he's the pick.

If Tannehill is there, he's the pick (sorry)

At 37:

If they took a WR, my board looks like:

Nick Perry
Bobby Massie
Mitchell Schwartz

Not even a little bit?

A top running back will have no effect on an offense? :chuckles:

Come on now...this is getting a bit too ridiculous.

There was a night and day difference with this offense when Hillis was playing well and not playing.

No. Teams are just going to stack the box like they did with Hillis

I'm pretty sure we won't be drafting Glenn or Tannehill.

I don't think they'll be there either...but hey, stranger things have happened.

Cordy Glenn?

I could see Tannehill, but Glenn is a baller.

correct me if I'm wrong, but Ray Rice did mighty fine against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati this past year.

yeah and ray rice doesn't have to play Baltimore. Those are also exceptions to the rule as opposed to what happens regularly. Game 1 Ray was a beast against Pittsburgh running for 107 on 19 carries. Game 2 against Pitts he had 18 carries for 43 yards...so no he didn't play fine that game. Flacco and the defense won that one.

As for Cincinatti, yes he dominated them but I purposely separated Cincinatti from Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

And unlike Hillis, Richardson will run over 9 in the box.

People still think Hillis was some crazy talent, it seems.

Just huber trying to troll.

I'd be surprised if he felt Adrian Peterson or Darren McFadden have no effect on the offense.

The fact that Richardson is very effective catching passes out of the backfield is a huge facet of this guy's game people are ignoring.

If we can put two physical WRs in the slots like Randle and Little along with a bruiser RB, our playmakers all of a sudden start looking scary, even with a subpar QB like McCoy. 3 players who can break tackles puts a ton of pressure on a defense, and forces a defense to be more disciplined on a blitz.

Even though Pittsburgh and Baltimore both have great run defenses, I guarantee they won't be celebrating the Browns picking up a dynamic dual threat like Richardson. He has the potential to be a better version of Ray Rice. How could that be a bad thing?

Glenn has an outside shot at being there at 22 but I question a guy who is an elite guard being moved to tackle where he isn't as good. More than likely if we are set at taking a tackle at 22 we will have either Jonathan Martin or Mike Adams. I'm not sure I want a tackle in the 1st round. We need a capable guy, we don't need an elite tackle IMO. There seems to be varying opinions on just how good Martin is and Adams, well anyone who flunks a drug test when they know it's coming is just a moron. Plus he hasn't played to his ability yet so what makes anyone think that will change?

I don't like Hill as guys who jump up the boards because combine results terrify me. His production on the field wasn't consistent because the offense GT ran, still why did he go to that school? Why didn't he transfer somewhere more traditional? I still like Kendall Wright but there are a lot of very good slot receivers to be had later in the draft. The best guy is Ruben Randle to me. Randle has great size so he can go get a ball if you throw it up, he has the ability to go over the middle and survive and he's fast enough that he can win the battle outside. He's a little raw still and will take some time to develop but I really like him. You might get him at 37 but you are running a risk. I wouldn't be tremendously shocked if they moved down from 22 to SF's pick at 30 and picked up another 3rd rounder. I also wouldn't be shocked in the Browns go DE with 22, Nick Perry would be a good pick if he was still on the board.

At 37, you can go best player available. That might be Bobby Massie or even Mike Adams. If they like Weeden, I think he will be the pick at 37.

Tannehill's obvious, because he's a late bloomer shooting up the draft boards because of his position, not what he's done.

Glenn is a giant man, but he's never played with the strength and size he should. He's not known as a lock down pass blocker. Most of his value is based off being a run blocking mauler... which he's never done in college.

Do you have the Browns office bugged? How did you base this opinion?

Nope, I just finally have faith in our front office to make smart decisions. When has Heckert ever been one to draft workout warriors who didn't perform well on the field, and are only known as 1st/2nd rounders going into the draft because they are coming out of a big name school?

and i purposely left out baltimore for that reason.

The Bengals rushed for over 100 yards on Pittsburgh and Baltimore both times they played them last year. with Cedric Benson.

Running the football will ALWAYS be important. If you can move the chains and wear down the defense, you're going to be tough to beat.
