Morris Claiborne Vs. Trent Richardson: pick a side

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Glenn has an outside shot at being there at 22 but I question a guy who is an elite guard being moved to tackle where he isn't as good. More than likely if we are set at taking a tackle at 22 we will have either Jonathan Martin or Mike Adams. I'm not sure I want a tackle in the 1st round. We need a capable guy, we don't need an elite tackle IMO. There seems to be varying opinions on just how good Martin is and Adams, well anyone who flunks a drug test when they know it's coming is just a moron. Plus he hasn't played to his ability yet so what makes anyone think that will change?

I don't like Hill as guys who jump up the boards because combine results terrify me. His production on the field wasn't consistent because the offense GT ran, still why did he go to that school? Why didn't he transfer somewhere more traditional? I still like Kendall Wright but there are a lot of very good slot receivers to be had later in the draft. The best guy is Ruben Randle to me. Randle has great size so he can go get a ball if you throw it up, he has the ability to go over the middle and survive and he's fast enough that he can win the battle outside. He's a little raw still and will take some time to develop but I really like him. You might get him at 37 but you are running a risk. I wouldn't be tremendously shocked if they moved down from 22 to SF's pick at 30 and picked up another 3rd rounder. I also wouldn't be shocked in the Browns go DE with 22, Nick Perry would be a good pick if he was still on the board.

At 37, you can go best player available. That might be Bobby Massie or even Mike Adams. If they like Weeden, I think he will be the pick at 37.

Glenn was playing LT at Georgia and more than held his own.

True, but his best position is at OG. He'll probably be pretty good at OT but for a guy his size, 345lbs, you can maximize his talents by playing him at guard.

Nope, I just finally have faith in our front office to make smart decisions. When has Heckert ever been one to draft workout warriors who didn't perform well on the field, and are only known as 1st/2nd rounders going into the draft because they are coming out of a big name school?

Isn't that exactly how they targeted Mike Lauvao? He was a sixth rounder until he blew the Browns scouts away with his strength and speed.

I don't have a very high opinion of Tannehill, but I think it is a bit presumptuous to predict how the Browns feel about Glenn. I didn't feel that he was some workout warrior who Mike Mamulaed his way into the spotlight in the past three months.

Fact of the matter is, the Browns don't have ANY prospects who are even close to playing tackle outside of Joe Thomas. Greco is a utility backup lineman at best. I don't see how the Browns take a risk of liking somebody for that position in this draft, then waiting until the third round to take him. All it takes is one team to see the same potential they see in a sleeper tackle, and the all important right side is in chaos.

Who the fuck is Mike Lauvao?

Touche, I obviously meant Shawn. I crossed him with Mamula. Go easy on me my infant son has had a temperature for three days and my wife is out of town on business... I've barely slept in days.

Don't worry about it man, I just didn't know who Mike was.

Shawn is a fine player, he was always ranked in to go in the 4th, the Browns reached a little because they liked him.

There's a difference between taking a mid-rounder because he has some attributes that blow you away, and taking a first rounder without the game footage to back it up.

I'd love to draft Glenn, have him come in here and live up to his potential, become a beast of a RT, and a mauler in the run game. I just don't see him panning out like a first round RT should, and I don't see Heckert picking him at 22.

Hey, I'm fine with that... I just saw you writing as if you have a dog in this race, like you have sat down with Heckert and got him drunk until he opened his soul to you.

If you actually know what Heckert is planning, cool. Otherwise I'm going to ask if that is your opinion or Heckert's opinion.

Cordy Glenn was always a first round pick.

You believe what Tom Heckert says, then believe that he says guys don't end up in the first because of workouts. It's generally the media is playing catchup when it comes to figuring out who goes where.

Glenn is a very good prospect, and ran a ridic 40 for someone his size. I think theyd plan on having him drop some weight to increase his foot speed, and he has more than enough natural athleticism to play RT as he was a very good LT at Georgia.

They could actually have him put on 50 pounds and have him play RG and RT and we can add another skill player on the field.

Talking about Alshon?

Sorry selbs, I just love the fat Alshon jokes. I actually don't mind him as a prospect.

Couldn't disagree more. He is a mauler & a technician. And a man his size shouldn't move the way he does. His biggest issue in college was, at times, he was too strong, which created bad habits in footwork and technique. If you ask me, that's a good problem to have and very correctable.

For the WCO, I think he's a bad fit. He didn't run an NFL route tree at SC and essentially ran 9's and slants during his breakout sophomore year.
