Four Team Deal Sends Howard to Lakers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor (Dwight says he'll re-sign longterm in LA)

I have a bad feeling the Cavs source which he has, has been feeding him info because we decided to walk away again this afternoon....

Cavs dont want the bad Pr of not being able to pull off the trade.. Instead the narrative of there never being any real talks is much better for the fans to swallow!

The problem I have with that is the Cavs are so tight lipped that they never reveal anything to the media unless it is different than what they want to have happen. If the Cavs walked away from this deal already then it would be all over the place by now.

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor (Dwight says he'll re-sign longterm in LA)

Nothing. Only to prevent the deal from blowing up is the only thing they have to gain, to take the time to talk to a Cavs beat reporter.

It's literally amazing how Lloyd is pretty much shooting everything down. To me, it's pretty damn obvious. A variety different sources said Bynum would be open to signing here, now all of a sudden it's never been mention. Hmmmm.

Sources just repeat each other and fans believe what they want to believe. It is way more likely that Lloyd is right and this is just a rumor and nothing else.

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor (Dwight says he'll re-sign longterm in LA)

And neither do we...or likely anyone else. People get way too caught up in rumors and speculation.

Yep.

@shighkinNBA
Varejao's got a pretty good contract. Worst-case scenario, Orlando would be able to get other assets for him.

Finally, someone with some sense.

Unlikely....Cavs being tight-lipped probably has more to do with not wanting young players names in trade rumors everyday on a national media stage.

And, like I've said, I highly doubt Orlando is in a big rush to trade Dwight...for the time being, it only helps them to wait this thing out.

I know that sucks for the whole soap opera...but it's true.

Those of you sitting around just WAITING for this deal to happen at any minute are wasting your time.

In a normal situation, an agent could talk off the record, or could say "Bynum is a Laker / no comment." Maybe they want everyone one to know that the person who holds a great deal of weight in the current situation is Bynum (which is true), but this seemed like a rather odd way to do that. Talking to an Akron beat reporter? Really? I'm not saying he didn't say it. That is just weird.

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor (Dwight says he'll re-sign longterm in LA)

Cavs source? Dude he told u right upfront its bynums agent saying this stuff

Only thing his agent said for sure is that the Cavs and him have not had talks! It is his opinion that Bynuum does not want to come here. Does not mean the whole thing was a complete fabrication!

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor (Dwight says he'll re-sign longterm in LA)

It's funny because everything was quiet until The Bullshit Whisperer tweeted that premature bullshit.

If you go by the timeline:

#1 - Woj (Yahoo) first reported that Bynum's preferred cities included Cleveland

#2 - Kennedy (HW) first reported the CLE-LAL-ORL deal Saturay

#3 - The Bullshit Whisperer (Fox) confirmed CLE-LAL-ORL on his end

#4 - Bucher (ESPN) confirmed CLE-LAL-ORL being real Wednesday

#5 - Rudolph (RealGM) says Dwight wants LA

#6 - Broussard (ESPN) confirms Rudolph's report

#7 - Lloyd (Beacon) says anything about CLE all not true

The Cavs must think fans are pretty stupid to think they'd buy that load of crap.

I think it is obvious by now that Grant and co. don't get too hung up on what Cav fans think, and is only trying to do what is best for this franchise. If he were, he'd likely have caved and drafted the popular Harrison Barnes instead of Dion Waiters.

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor (Dwight says he'll re-sign longterm in LA)

Also, interesting to keep in mind... Wasn't there a quote provided yesterday from Anthony Tolliver's agent that the Cavs were interested in his client, but because of current trade negotiations the team had to see where they were at financially before moving forward. I'm just paraphrasing, but it does seem like there are those whom report the Cavs being actively involved in trade discussions, while others try to downplay it.

Lloyd probably called him. Agents field calls from reporters all the time.

2 hours on this forum would show you how poorly the fans would run a team. The only thing the front office is doing for fans is trying to build a winner.

Only reason I say this is because it has happened before... check another part of the site for reference!

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor (Dwight says he'll re-sign longterm in LA)

Except Houston has yet to sign their rookies. That means that they can be traded right now and without any cap implications to go with them. You can trade the rights before a contract is signed and Houston has not gotten that done. The rumor is that Houston drafted with Orlando in mind, so Lamb, White, and Jones may all end up going to Orlando in a trade.

I doubt the Cavs would be willing to trade Zeller or Waiters.

Jones signed his contract. They can only trade Lamb and White. Also what are the potential salaries since trades have to match up salary-wise.

Not to mention Houston is 10M under the cap and Cleveland is 26M. We have more cap flexibility to take on Richardson or Hedo than the Rockets do.

They don't answer their questions all the time, publicly, unless there's something for them to gain.

I wonder if The Bullshit Whisperer is done with his 3 hour drive yet?
